Just out of interest. Is it possible to have a front wheel hub conversion set up alongside a mid-drive Bafang conversion. I realise the weight of two batteries would be an issue but would the PAS control for the front, work off the mid-drive ?

you can share one large battery between the two motor instead of two.

it is difficult to fit an external PAS to a crank drive motor, possibly easier to tap into the crank drive's PAS.
