As we have a membership covering all of UK and beyond surely someone knows of a battery re packer somewhere, cant be rocket science must be the way forward ( good opportunity to start little business, many future customers on site ) this of course would avoid throwing away containers and newer batteries that have not been sitting around for a time, and most of all would keep prices down, the only one i have heard of is in Cambridge. it would be handy if anyone used these services could offer feedback

I was looking at that and for a particular old Bosch drill, I'd pay the
money being asked there for a battery pack re-build. Great old drill, just about unburstable, and its modern equivalent would cost an arm and leg.
However it's always cheaper just to buy a new battery from China.
In most cases, for power tools it's often just a little bit extra to buy a new kit with batteries included than it is to re-cell or buy new batteries.

And the experience of much recelling by past companies offering it has been shorter life and other failings, plus the cost often close to a new battery. After all, almost all the cost of a battery is in the content, cases cost very little. Another factor is that of compatibility of older BMS designs with later chemistry cells, sometimes making recelling of lithium batteries questionable.

A further problem resulting from cell chemistry advances is that existing battery case meters often don't work after recelling, and the same often occurs when the cell capacity changes.

All in all, generally not worth considering.

With eZee for example, you can get your 10Ah battery re-celled in the UK for £350. Add to that the cost of sending your old case and the delivery charge for the re-celled battery however much that may be. Also do you get a new BMS or is the old one reused.

Compare that with cost of a brand new eZee 37v 10Ah battery bought from Cyclezee for £395 including delivery within the UK mainland.

The 24v battery that they show in the listing costs £229 to re-cell. You can buy the same one new from Kudos for £165. That's £64 cheaper! It simply doesn't make sense to re-cell batteries. The mass-producers in China can get the cells at a fraction of the price anybody in the UK can, so they'll never be competitive. They're relying on people's ignorance about getting replacement batteries. I can imagine some people going to the shop where they bought their electric bikefrom four years ago and asking for a battery, to which the reply will be, "We don't deal with them anymore". Then they think that they're stuck.

If you have a favourite power tool with duff battery,it's nothing to re-cell it yourself as there's not many cells involved. There's also Chinese suppliers selling ready-made cell-packs to slot into your Bosch battery case. Ebike batteries are harder to do yourself because of the number of connections, and there's still Chinese suppliers selling ready-made cell-packs, but not cheaper than a whole battery.

Will the Kudos battery fit all bikes?
Yes, Any battery can be fitted to more or less any bike as long as you add two wires to the original battery connections. It won't take you far on a 36v one because the LVC on the controller will cut it off, but you only have to change one resister in the controller to get full range. A 24v battery on a 36v bike will give 2/3 the speed.

And that is why you are totally right d8veh, whilst Kudos is also right in doing the math.
