OK haven`t been around a while.
I need to buy a new battery, and am looking at the ping kit..
Is there a proper link, or do most people buy of ebay?

How many cycles are we getting from this technology these days? More importantly what sort of price am I looking at?

I am looking at a 6 mile journey up three mediocre hills one of which drags on for a mile. Coming home I have one significant hill. I do have the opportunity to charge at work, but would prefer not to..
wadaya think?

Here's the website link to buy direct Andrew:

Ping store

Hopefully others who have used them will come in with further advice.

Nobody knows for certain the number of charge cycles possible as they have not been in service long ehough, but 2000 is thought reasonable with 1000 as an absolute minimum and 5000 as a maximum.

Best investment I ever made - apart from the electric bike that is.
My Ping battery is now 9 months old (April 08).

Still going strong - 18 miles max range in hilly Cornwall.
My original SLA batteries started dying at only 6 months old (7.5 miles at time of replacement)

Ahh thanks
I take it customs add their whack to the end bill too.

A recent purchase of a hub motor and front wheel (from China) cost me another £80 when the letter from customs dropped through my door a month later - but then it was rather large :(
You may need to keep a few quid in reserve just in case.
