I have a bosch gen 1 classic mid motor with the currie electric display and pedal assist is failing giving me an E1 code error. I looked it up and recommends computer controller be checked by dealer. My bike system doesn't have a connector for USB or Bluetooth . It's a bit of a pain in the arse to haul it into the bike shop so I'm wondering if if it wouldn't be easier to just replace the computer control board instead. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK with any Bosch system you are tied into the dealer. They will only work on a bike they sold and most jobs they don't do but send back to Bosch.
There are no user serviceable parts in the Bosch system.
There is a guy who has adverised on here repairing Bosch systems. I think his name is Pete trading as something like ebikebearings - someone will know.

Unfortunately Bosch systems are great until they aren't, but then liable to be a big hassle. I think many Bosch bike dealers will handle bikes they didn't sell, but as Benjahmin says they are likely to send them back to Germany, for expensive and slow repair. Bosch ensure that parts that could be user serviceable are not easily available; you can sometimes get them from people who are taking apart dead systems.
