King-Meter-J-LCD.pdf

  • - if you have hydraulic brakes, the supplied brake sensors are cable operated, so they won't work.
  • - do you have disc brakes?
The caliper may foul against the motor shell.
  • - have you measured the rear drop out? it must be between 135mm and 145mm.
  • - is there enough room to mount the bottle battery?
  • - is there enough room to mount the pedal assist sensor (PAS)?
  • - will the supplied brake levers work with your bike?
We recommend that you send us pictures of your bike to kits at woosbikes.co.uk - we'll check for you.
What if I only use thumb throttle?
The good points are:
- Less work.
- Bike is much more responsive, does not need brake sensors.
- Suits cyclists who only need temporary help to rest their legs.
Bad points:
- The throttle is sensitive and instantaneous.
If you fit the thumb throttle, you must also fit brake sensors for your safety.

This kit is sold with special conditions:
- You must be competent bike mechanic. We do not take back items that have been installed.
- You agree not to derestrict the product and use within the manufacturers specifications (15mph).
- You accept full responsibility for possible damages to your bike, battery and consequential losses due to the use of the kit.

Limited guarantee:
- The product is guaranteed for 1 year return to base, repair or replace at our discretion.

The pedelec sensor can be mounted to the left if space is a problem:

Thumb throttle:

If you start pedalling, the pedal assist sensor will sense

Installation

2) Install brake levers.
3) Install the thumb throttle.
4) Install the LCD.
5) Install the battery.
6) Connect the waterproof cable loom and the battery cable.
7) Install the motor wheel.

Possible issues:
Do not buy until you are quite sure that you won't run into the following issues:
1. You want a rear motor but your rear wheel has a cassette. We have a CST kit, it's mostly the same but with XFC07C motor, please ask us before ordering.
2. Wrong rear drop out. The XF08C CST suits 135mm to 145mm dropout.
3. not enough space to fit the pedelec sensor on chain side, you may need to buy the left pedelec sensor upgrade.
4. excess wiring, a bit ugly to hide in shrink wrap tubing, requiring trimming off excess cable and reconnect/solder/crimp -ing wires.
5. Not enough room inside triangle to fit bottle battery. The battery size is 361 x 80 x 92 (in mm, L x W x H). Ask us about rear rack batteries.

Looks great value @£499 do you do the fitting for £75 on this one?
Hi Andy,
Yes, we can do that for the £75 budget.

Yeah, its £100 cheaper than their BPM kit..
The BPM kit is more expensive mainly because it comes with 15AH battery instead of 13AH and the Bafang BPM motor is also more expensive than the MXUS XF08C.

Agree, advantage of MXUS a bit more stealth?

freewheels stop at 8-speed while most quality 26" MTBs come with cassette, 1 x 11, 2x10, 2x9 etc. I thought the XF08C kit is an economic solution to build yourself a nice commuter bike.

These Mxus motors are very good, I have the freewheel version which is waiting to go back into another bike in 2017.

I personally would stick to an 11-34 8 speed cassette because the motor is powerful enough to eliminate the need for too many gears. Say a 48-38 on the front for speed on the flat and the bottom gear should be able to climb most anything.

Yes, I'm thinking about 2 bikes, like a mountain bike too, one front hub one back hub, not sure compatible or how the wheels would match on this Cube Acid?

Spot on in agreeance with 8 speed cassette, in struggling to find a simple solution on bike compatibility as sellers don't always list all the specs.

that looks like 27.5". We have Bafang SWX02 and BPM in that size but only with freewheel fitting. the Acid seems to come with 2x10, so on this occasion, they won't do. We will stock more wheel sizes in 2017.

then it's a good fit. The only DIY items are the hydraulic brake sensors. We can replace the Hayes Stroker Ryde with e-hydraulic brakes as an option.

At the moment my favorite is the Rockrider 520 which is a 27.5". I am thinking of just putting the 26" wheel in the back with a 2.15 tyre which means the wheel will be 3.43 cm smaller. A very keen eye will spot the difference in diameter. The other option is to have the motor laced into the 27.5" rim by the LBS.

We can lace the motor to another rim for customers but the labour cost is often a problem.
