that's easy: 20 * 83g = 1660g + 100g (BMS and wiring) + 100g (£3 saddle bag from Banggood) = 1860g and costing about $140.
Only problem with this, the recommended maximum continuous current is 12A, a bit weak other than for very light weight bikes.

Yes, it is. GEB told me max continuous current at 1C.
It fills an interesting slot in 36V or 48V at 12AH or to make a small 2S booster pack for 36V 10AH batteries, you know your battery will be flat before the booster does.

Hmmm, shame.....that makes it too weak for me.....perhaps another year or so until battery tech improves enough. 36v, 12Ah, 1.5-2c discharge and a pack weight of 2kg.

My beast of a lifepo4 pack is showing no signs of capacity degradation...nearly 2 years old now, used daily.

the problem with prismatic cells is that they need compression and hardcase protection. So even if there are slightly lighter than the recent 18650 cells, they need an additional layer of protection that would add weight to the battery pack

on balance, it's still much easier and cheaper to make your own pack with prismatic cells than with 18650 cylindrical cells. You only need a bit of heat shrink tube and a bit of kapton tape because prismatic cells are dead easy to solder.

I tried to solder lipo prismatic and it was hell because it was aluminium tabs. Maintenance is also hell because I need an hardcase.

Third hell is that optimal performance is only achieve from compression.

I can guarantee you that kapton tape and heat shrink are far from enough to protect the cells. Unless you feel lucky

I only have experience with pulled prismatic cells, I soldered them with a 120W soldering iron. The tabs are already tinned, so hell was avoided. Thanks for the warning though, it's good to know.
