OMG. What were they thinking?

Perhaps they have one of these company policies where they have to take on a proportion of blind people. They didn't have anything for them to to, so they sat them in a spare workshop and asked them to design and make an electric bike.

Typically French, always wanting to be different. If it didn't have the briefcase/laptop compartment it would look a lot better of course, but odd from a company that designed some of the finest road bicycles of the 1970s and '80s, and with a good Tour de France record for those bikes.

One in pic seems to be using Hebie Chainglider chain enclosure. Didn't think they suited small wheels due to 46T-19T ? sprocket limit. But maybe with Sturmey 8sp being 1:1 in 1st gear, it works?
If frame is bonded & rivetted alloy, that may allow economical small scale production too, can't hurt?
Yep ugly, No mudguards (shown), frame doesn't fold, but at least the handlebars & pedals do :). Cheers, Mike

My experience of selling these ebikes is that most of my customers want their ebike to look like normal bikes, the more radical the design the less popular. There are always bikes like this, that seem to win 'best of show' awards at Eurobike but ultimately sales are very limited.
I have nothing against new designs but the French seem to create designs which are different just to be different and mostly only the French buy them!
Personal opinions of course.

If it folded it would be a good accessory for the Range Rover Evoque.

That thing's plug ugly too.

Looks a bit better when the carrier is empty but...
... and the carrier's about the most useful thing I can see on the bike ! Especially for urbanites. They're probably thinking park your Peugeot & cycle on to destination - and for many people not out for a Sunday tootle that means park and take something with you or bring it back. Backpacks wreak havoc with the line of a jacket and look very utilitarian ;).

I think it looks awful personally too btw ... but the carrier alone makes it a lot more useful than a number of other eBikes on the market - for a certain type of buyer with certain needs (e.g. using to go to business meetings etc.)

I love the flowing lines of the frame that exemplify both strength and dynamism, the hand crafted finish and detailing, the tube work that reflects the skill and craftsmanship that is embedded in the heritage of great cycle manufacturer........oh no, wait a minute, .....

that's the wrong picture i'm looking at....

:eek:God that's ..erm, adventurous! Well at least they have tried and someone must think it's attractive in a 'designerly' way. Personally I'd rather hang a poundland bag on my handle bars to carry stuff than use that just because its got a space for a briefcase .

It isn't pretty but it isn't ugly, it's in between, pretty ugly.
