Non hall throttle

Does a twist throttle exist that bypasses the control box entirely. That controls the bike speed by regulating the current going to a 24v dc motor?

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid that was the case.
Maybe one could rig up some kind of sliding rheostat to alter the current going to the 24v brushed motor?

that would waste most of your battery power.
It would be like using a rheostat to step down the voltage.
Think of the controller like a good DC-DC buck converter. It wastes less than 10% of your batttery power.

Controllers for brushed motors are really cheap - much cheaper than a rheostat.

There are other ones if you need a pedal sensor.
