On off switch

Can anyone recommend a good 48v on off switch,i prefer key operation but as this will be my third switch reliability is most important,also does it make any difference if switch is on positive or negative side,thanks in advance paul.

If you have a negative earth system, the switch should be on the positive side near the battery, that way you get maximum isolation becuase everything "down" from the switch is unpowered. If you did put the switch in the negative side with a negative earth system, then everyting from the battery through all the installation would be live until it reached the switch, accordingly a system fault condition with the switch in the off position could cause a battery drain, short circuit or fire
