i’m toying with th idea of getting a Woosh Krieger when back in stock , or Going the DIY route.

A friend is selling a 2012 Specialized crosstrail for £100 which seems a good deal?

Would a swx02kit be best suited for this?
I notice the 2012 model only has 2 screws for the battery mount, whereas the 2017+ models have 3. Does this really matter?

is this your bike?

if it is, that Crosstrail has 700C wheels and 3x8 speed gears.
I would suggest the XF08C kit for it.
The battery is HL downtube battery, available in 13AH or 15AH or 17AH

4) King Meter LCD with 5 assist levels, speedometer and clock
5) Thumb throttle
6) Speed sensor
7) Lishui 18 Amps sine-wave controller
8) with 13AH HL downtube battery with Samsung 18650-29E cells £499
9) with 17AH HL downtube battery with Panasonic 18650-B cells £599
10) Charger with UK plug

if you have hydraulic brakes, you need to buy extra hydraulic brake sensors (with two pin red plug)

The location of your cage bolts do not fit the slots on the mounting rail, you may need to install one or two rivnuts (supplied with the kit) on the downtube. You don't need any special tool but if you have never done this before, Read this article.

Wow thanks for the fast reply, the actual bike is this one in the attached photo

Same as this. Looks like it’s 3x9

3 x 9 is OK with the XF08C kit.
hydraulic brakes are OK too.

You don't have to fit hydraulic brake sensors if you want to keep the good looks of the brake levers but it's prudent to fit them.

this is how they look:
