Protective Cloating - Overkill?

I was thinking, would it be overkill to wear a motor cycle or scooter jacket on an ebike?

The cost, compared to a regular coat, isn't prohibitive. They are of course designed to cut
wind chill, they also come with 'armor' for areas like shoulders and elbows and backs.

If you fall off a bike at 15mph or over, its going to hurt, so why not do what the bikers do and wear protection?

I had the same thoughts,I thought it would look a bit overkill, and settled on using my leather jacket that does look a bit like a USAF flying jacket.

Depends if you pedal or not, can get a bit hot otherwise and ebikes are all about 'no sweat' I wear a normal coat to suit the weather and then wear waterproofs over the top.
