Unfortunately, I wear varifocal glasses. I don't have problems riding but I do, have problem turning round and seeing behind me. I don't want to purchase glasses for riding because I always loose them if I have to keep changing.

I was thinking of purchasing a rear view mirror. There is an array of products available. Helmet mounted, wrist mounted or handlebar mounted. How good are these? How practical are they? Are there any other blind bats like out there that have tried one?

I have a Mirrycle handlebar end mounted one which I think is pretty good.

The key is finding the right type of mirror. I would not be without mine. You can get one that mounts into the end of your handle bar or one that mounts on it.(motorcycle style) The bestbet isto head to you local bike shop for suggestions and proper mounting.

I use a zefal folding mirror would not be without it. I find it strange that by law you have to have a bell on your bike and not a mirror. It would be good practice if all road bikes came with one.

I have just taken a Zefal mirror off the Delite and replaced it with a Mirrycle, the Zefal has gone onto the Birdy where it seems more in keeping with the bike. I missed a mirror when using the Birdy, one soon gets used to using them.

B&M Cyclestar mirrors. Small glass but very stable for attaching to North Road / moustache/riser bars where you can't use bar ends. Being German they are a bit pricey, but you can buy spares, if needed.

Yes definatly a good idea, a major boost your own safety and hopefully gives you chance to dive off when some plonker is texting and not seen you. It's a real bonus in busy traffic or on fast roads. I have used Bursh and Muller Cycle Star (long stem) for a few years. Mounts on bar need or on bars. Helmet mirrors can suffer with vibration I know a few people who have tried them and binned them for that reason.
