Peaky Blinders on Netflix.

Watching this show for the 4th time now. It's a masterpiece. From acting, dialogues, cinematography to music score. Everything is brilliant. Thomas foocking Shelby is iconic thanks to Cillian Murphy's class apart acting. Now awaiting its fifth season.

I recently watched the movie Jupiter Ascending on soap2day. On the one hand - I was not bored and imbued with some sympathy for the main characters. On the other hand for such a quality and weighty sci-fi like "Star Wars" the movie does not pull at all in spite of abundance of computer graphics and high quality representatives of different races.

Including a weak plot elaboration with a lot of bloopers and rough edges. Already at the beginning of the movie, it is not clear to me personally why this amateur astronomer and father Jupiter is sitting on the bank of the Neva in winter, as if he is in Central Park in New York in the fall.

Movie seen: The Da Vinci Code

My Review: I did not read much about the plot before watching the movie and took it as a regular murder mystery but after an hour when the real plot was revealed, I got to know it was about Jesus and a fictional story which they tried to make appear real. They tried to explain about the blood line and all but gladly it wasn't offensive or anything but just some fictional story and I liked the suspense elements although I was guessing it before it was revealed.

I later read that it was a highly controversial movie due to its story line which was obvious as they are challenging the views of the church and it was banned in India too. But overall the movie was good enough and I did not keep thing about it and just took it as fiction.

I'll give it 7/10. A good one-time watch and great acting by Tom Hanks as usual.

It's not popular because you can't argue on it. Guerney will disagree of course.

Movies offer a unique form of storytelling that can transport us to different worlds and offer new perspectives on life. Movie essays are a great way to deepen our understanding of films and explore their underlying themes, characters, and messages. I have always dreamed of being a movie blogger and am now learning writings at https://studydriver.com/movies/ to learn how to write like a professional writer. Studying such sources allows me to engage with the movie deeper and analyze its structure, symbolism, and meaning. It's a rewarding process that can help me appreciate films even more and inspire me to create my own stories.
You have a strange choice of TV shows for the duration of your illness. Are you military?
From the last TV shows I watched, I liked "Sex Education," "You," and the new season of "Dexter."
Avatar: The Way of Water made the most significant impression among the movies.

Breaking Bad (fantastic)
Ozark (very good)
Peaky Blinders. Superb.

Didn't like any of yours but that's life. Avatar was incredibly terrible. IMHO.

Breaking Bad was a true masterpiece.
Avatar was terrible in my opinion.

The Bear is worth a look.
It's a fast paced drama set in a sandwich diner in Chicago. Excellent acting and scripting.

Looks pretty slick Guerney
The resolution of stop-motion is only limited by stills cameras, which is higher than video cameras. Cheap too. If you like that sort of animated film, this (which took over 30 years to produce) is well worth watching:

There are elements of "Hard-core Henry" that's remarkably true to life. Or rather what most of us really experience, beneath the veneer (who hasn't been woken from what feels an amnesiac state in the morning by a woman who claims to be ones wife who advises one to disregard the past; before she too dissapear somewhere down the fractured existential line of events to be replaced by an alcoholic bum, often in the guise of a medical specialist, telling one one's body is killing one). That's of course aside from its catchy title (that's high on my list of new nicks)

Is a different woman claiming to be your wife every morning?

How many mornings this month have you been woken by women claiming to be your wife? Irritating.

I've stopped trying to lose weight, because it's time to start building muscle again. A bit of a gradual start is wise. As it always has, pyramid training is working - not much difference in muscle gain rate to 10 years ago. Stopped slow jogging for the time being, replaced with fast ambling, which actually covers more ground faster. Death is fatal.

Meant permanent dissociative state were all in really. Wonder how many have watched hard-core Henry? I have the opposite problem (kind off), I do some exercise then overfuel and gain too much weight. But was chatting to friend at gym few days ago, ageing is a pain, it does all kind of stuff to one's metabolism (slowing) and ability to shed weight one dint see coming. Secret, I think, is to move somewhere warmer and (ironic on this site I know) not to use an ebike or ev but walking or standard bicycle, slow continuous energy burn, low intensity exercise that gove definition.

Weight loss is nearly all about diet, at least it is for me now... and this latest weight loss stint has been my longest ever - I've always yoyoed between fat and fit, but somehow over 7 years I'd managed to gain four very unwelcome stones without noticing much. Habitual highly enjoyable rich flavoursome business dinners, I think were the cause. And losing over three stones has taken almost three years... but I've finally had enough and I want my strength back, despite there being about 3/4 stone of very stubborn fat to lose. Luckily, because I've done it before, muscle is easy to regain: Destroy muscle over two arduous hours every two days to the point of liquification, which forces the body to replace the painful mess with new stronger muscle; it works the same as it ever did. But I might go back to dieting for a bit longer, to do it right. Physical strength always comes in handy.

Yes, but it's unfortunately all part of a bigger gestalt in my case. Am on all inclusive hol in Cape verde and was thinking about this a moment ago. It comes with three (quite delicious) all one can eat daily buffets. That, and mixing it with the walruses that migrate between the pool and the restaurant is kind of ego dystonic, a bit offensive, not quite what I hoped to become in semi retirement. But I'm OK enough with it (and the extra two stone) because I'm not the highly strung unhappy adolescent I used to be. Self acceptance (to a point) and weight gain can sadly go together.

No hope of a semi in your retirement with that view!

I started losing weight after my Doctor insisted I start on a permanent regime of statins, which I refused saying "No. I'll lose weight", which I did and am doing. Muscle gain is to regain what I've lost while losing weight, plus a bit... it'd useful to be strong for lugging things like bikes around. I'll get back to the form I had in 2004, one way or another, and hopefully attain a similar level of fitness (like hell lol). Also, becoming fitter and healthier might save my eyes from progression of Central Serous Retinopathy, and blood sugar, chest pain issues. Already my heart feels much less clenchy, has freed up a lot with the weight loss.

That sounds very nice indeed - any pics? No walruses please. Unless you really want to post pics of walruses lolloping around...
