I've been a big fan of Poundland's cheapo AA Nimhs for many years, the AAAs too... and when they didn't charge properly, I threw them away... loads... but I recently discovered what you all probably already know: cheap stainless steel and other alloys aren't really oxidisation free, require isopropyl to clean the business ends, after which they charge fine. Homer Simpson Doh! moment!
