I am somewhat ignorant regarding ebike technology, common designs, componentry, compatibility etc and would love to get up to speed on this exciting subject . I enjoy fault finding generally ...on anything really but 2 wheels have been a lifelong passion , particularly modifying , improving and maintaining bikes , which I have done for over 50 years now . I am someone who likes to understand things in relative depth so the knowledge becomes more usable over wider ranges so am keen to learn all about ebike tech , pros, cons, modifications etc so I can perhaps buy and repair some ebikes , for personal use and possible to make a little pocket money ...something I am very short of !
I guess by posting on here I am hoping to avoid wasting time digesting the mass of related subjects on YouTube and various forums and to get some pointers to the best resources available to folk in my position . If you have any advice., links or other suggestions it would be truly appreciated and thank you in advance. Bill in Devon , UK .

Welcome and have fun.

The Grin ebike co from canada host a site with a good deal of reference info and guides www.ebikes.ca

The gist of the accepted collective wisdom in here should start to show through after a week or two browsing over threads, but if confused about anything, just ask.. cant promise i will have an answer but someone probably will..

Spoiler alert!- the big reveal is simply while the regs limit the motor rating to 250w they say nothing about the power (amps) we can apply to that motor.. Some systems make it easy to exploit this ( generally generic), others less so ( frequently branded bikes).
