I can never set keep current to 100% and posted this many months ago, however has anyone else encountered this problem . I'm not stupid and am sure that its just something I've missed but I've been trying all different setting and still no joy, I do know how to connect the programming cable and how to type in 100% instead of 10% but even with the reply saying the alteration is a success it will not hold the setting at 100%
Someone must have encountered this so please help can someone add a screenshot of basic and pedal assist setting that are known to work with keep current at 100% so I can load them and see what happens

I haven't encountered this problem, but here are my previous settings which worked well. I've since increased the controller's current limit to 20A, for faster hill climb getaways.

Use at your own risk - post details of your battery, so the experts can see if it's safely capable of continuously discharging whatever current you're drawing from it.

Perhaps try the Speeed App? I couldn't get Penoff's Configurator to work at all on PC, previously worked fine, I suspect this was due to a glitchy programming cable, which has since failed, and was progressively glitchy until failure.

Can you make other changes and keep them?

Looking at this post from 2020, this is quite a longstanding problem for you. Are you using the same programming cable and configurator every time?

https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/inkeep-current-in.39603/post-588595

What version of the BBS01B controller do you have? Could you upload the config file or screenshot? Some 36V BBS01B controllers aren't fully programmable, but that's more often reported as an issue with the 48V BBS01Bs. Perhaps some combination of configurator and programming cable is causing the triggering of a defaulting of that value upon detection of some sort of fault? The reason why I speculate this, is because when I tried to increase the current limit on mine the first time, to see if I could, not because I wanted 20A at the time, using Penoff's configurator on Windows 7... the controller threw a wobby, didn't increase the current limit but defaulted all of the pedal assist parameters to weird values. I then had to change those parameters and try again. It all took about two or three tries (if I recall correctly, it's been about four years), with wobblies before the current limit changed. I didn't screenshot the weird values (should have done), but I don't think they were the original parameters my BBS01B controller arrived programmed with. The programming cable I used failed eventually, so did the next one, also in progressively glitchy fashion. In my experience, for whatever reason the Speeed App for Android is more forgiving of a glitchy cable on it's way to death. I'd write the 100% "Keep current" parameter several times, even after it has been accepted, and if that didn't work, I'd try the Speed app and do the same. If no joy, I'd try a different programming cable.

thank for your suggestiios when i set the max speed to 100% I get more power then with other's

what i am saying is i tried settings used by others and some appeared to add nothing to the motor
Mine is not bad , I usually try to keep early 40s on the speedo on the flat ofcourse but it drops to 12kph on my steepest hill which is 18deg. i seldom change from assist 5. if i up it to 20amp will it likely blow the controller

i have tried alternative programing cables and alternative ways to load settings generally I connect the cable to pc and green connector on bafang then i connect generall com 3 then i see what left the factory which is very poor with keep current set at 10% so i reset to what i think is maximum apart from max current which i up 20 from 18 then then i write it then a few mins later i write flash. the keep current stays at . next time i ride the bike the keep currenr will be back at 10%

It'd be interesting to see all your settings your controller reverts to. You can save a configuration file using Penoff's to upload, or copy/paste the configuration file text using Notepad. Or take screenshots of the tabs by hitting CTRL and PRINT SCREEN buttons - this copies to clipboard, then paste into an image editing program, save as a .JPG file and upload. Or you can upload photos of the screens. If using the Speeed App for Android, there's a button combination to take screenshots, which varies by device. Ultimately your efforts could be a waste of time, if for some reason your controller is not fully programmable. Mine is, purchased from greenbikekit (thanks @peter.c) about three years ago. So was the controller bought from IEBIKE on Amazon. I don't know if the controllers they supply now are fully programmable. Best to ask them first, if you're considering purchasing a new controller to solve the problem, if unsolveable by other means.

Usually it's only the current limit which can't be altered.
