I suspect it would be too easy to hot wire to bypass the system so a bit pointless and leave your bike inoperable should the system fail.

I suspect the average theif would take one look at the panel and choose another bike. :)

Alternatively if you shoehorn the board into the battery case there would be no indication of why the bike would not work, and as a DIY if it failed you would know how to bypass it.

Excuse the total lack if knowledge re RFID!

Could this be used to have a proximity based on/off for a speed limiter ?

My controller has a wire that if linked limits speed and if unlinked doesn't

Is like to have a system whereby if I walk away from the bike the limiter goes on

And when I walk close it goes off

I'm guessing the wire is 5v one but I'd have to test

In theory yes, put a relay on the RFID output to switch the limiting lead to its matching connector/lead, the biggest problem is that RFID can be very short range you may have to fit the pickup coil under your seat and put the tag in your rear pocket.
The coil is the full diameter of the case so range maybe better than average.
