Hi there,

I have a Winora Radius ebike, 20" wheels.

My stock seat post is 450mm long at 31.6mn.

I want to raise the seat height by 100mm minimum to 150mm maximum above the minimum insertion line.

I've looked everywhere but the longest (other than Brompton 550/600mm & telescopic) I can find is 450mm.

I've phoned all sorts of bicycle shops and custom builders but am coming up short.

One of the guys mentioned using a USE shim to use a different sized seat post. But, I can't find a suitable shim for 31.6mm to Brompton's 31.8mm sizing.

So I had another idea that I'd like to run by you for feedback:

Could I buy a 27.2 seat post and cut off the bottom 200mm.

Insert a shim of 31.6 to 27.2 to the insertion point. Then slot in the 200mm cut off.

Next add on a seat post bushing for 27.2 to 30.8 size.

Then finally add a 450mm seat post at 30.8?

I'd possibly use cold weld to join most parts excluding shim 31.6mm to 27.2mm and tighten down bottom shim with seat post clamp.

Would this work?
