Having a week off work I am experimenting with my bike........ as in I am experimenting with putting a different controller into it........ need a bit of help if possible:

On my current bike (Oxygen emate) the three wires coming off the PAS (pedal sensor) are red, black and yellow - whereas the three wires assigned to the PAS on the new controller are red, black and green. So first off - can I safely assume the yellow and the green are the same (ie they are the signal wire) and can be joined (obviously I am assuming red can go to red and black to black).

Next: on my bike now the throttle wires are red black and white - whereas the new controller they are red black and green - again this time can I assume the green and the white are the same?

Otherwise it seems like a pretty simple swap....

Thoughts anybody?

Your assumptions are correct. Join them and have fun. Some pedal sensors work backwards, so check by turning the pedals both ways. If it works backwards, you have to flip the magnet disk.

What new controller have you got and what are you trying to get from it? Maybe we can help.

Thanks for those replies - it all fitted together fine - and worked.

Somebody should get those guys to standardise the colours of the wires though - but I guess that makes it all the more interesting. And any excuse to get my soldering iron out.

:)

Well done James, glad it worked.

Always remember that the standard is that nothing's standard, lol
