Selling my 1 year old ex demo smart e bike. I actually only bought it 6 months ago from smart dealer in Edinburgh. Fantastic bike only selling as I'm 6'3 and found the frame just too small for longer journeys. Near perfect condition comes with all manuals. Done about 300 miles in total. Difficult to know how to price. They now retail new for £2200. I got mine for £1700 so hopefully £1300 a fair price as only had it a few months. Pictures to follow but please do email with questions. I am based in,Falkirk Scotland so buyer will have to pay for courier or collect. Not advertised anywhere else yet seemed easier to try and sell here first!

Does it matter? I don't know what "worried" means. If you are implying stolen then no it's not stolen and I have all original receipts. If you mean I have broken sone forum rule then it won't be the first time. Oddly enough my biggest stress about using these kind of forums is there is always someone pops up to tell you something you have done wrong! I have actually used the site quite a bit to research buying an electric conversion kit and it's been really useful so this seemed a good place to sell an electric bike, which is still reasonably specialist item to an "informed" audience. I worried about selling it on Gumtree etc as it is an expensive item and risked selling to someone who didn't know or understand the product as well.

it would attract members' interest if you post a few pictures of the bike and give us some information like:
1. what is the range?
2. how well does it climb hills?
3. Link to bike specifications?

It would cost nothing to post on ebay as auction to get more interest and pull out the auction if it does not reach an acceptable price.

Great! Again not sure what you mean. I am putting up an honest review of my experience with smart bike v conversion kit. Maybe that will provoke another emotion! No doubt someone will tell me it's in the wrong place, wrong thread, not allowed to do reviews on a Friday. Forums have more rules than golf clubs!

I rode one a few weeks back. Smooth, quiet, plenty of torque for hills. nicely finished.
Negative points: very stiff frame with no suspension. Quite heavy to lift up.

I didn't think it was good value at £2200, but £1300 seems quite fair.

I don't understand the point about making e-bikes without suspension. You want to torture your customers or what?

Oddly enough with the Smart Bike I would never have found lack of suspension an issue I have always found it pretty comfortable even on canal paths. Since converting my Specialized (non suspension) bike I can now see what you mean. Perhaps it's because the conversion put the weight on the front wheel whereas Smart motor is at the rear.

thats a great price - i tested the smart ebike for a couple of days when i was first looking for a bike, and if someone is looking for a town commuter bike its great - quiet and the belt drive is a great system. Range was good (though nowhere near claimed - just like everyone else) you can buy suspension forks as an optional extra for not much money iirc, but for around town, these are very good. It's a nicely proportioned frame, and hauled my 110kg's around well, also display is nice.

The suspension issue is different to standard bikes, i think the frame design has some give in it, and that helps smooth out the bumps (note i'm guessing) but its a very different ride to a bicycle.

Its worth riding one because the experience of the belt drive is lovely compared to chain drive systems....My main issues was the price (but i guess the merc dealers have to pay for their fancy showrooms somehow), and also smarts history of delivering things that look great and then fall down later (i've owned four models of smart cars and still own one, and they are great, but quirky to say the least) - I think for 1300 quid for a basically as new bike its a steal compared to the cost of a new one, as long as you aren't off road or rural with too many hills, but i think you'd need to get someone who's ridden one, as comparitively on paper it doesn't seem a great spec for the money)

good luck with the sale!

by the way - might be worth advertising on the smart car forums - most have an ebike section, and lots of smart zombies on there who love all things smart
