At Presteigne,so many people did not understand what the AUTO button does on the simple LED displays. Reading through the manual it revealed this feature to be quite useful yet misunderstood.
What the AUTO button does is to hold the speed at 6kmh on flat or slight incline,it is useful on those days when you wish to waft along slowly without pedalling, admiring the scenery slowly but without effort. It is a pleasant sensation when in the right frame of mind but whilst these controls are very popular I was surprised how many times I was asked it's function.Sort of like an e-bike cruise control.

That sounds like a walk-alongside system Dave, rather too slow for riding at 3.6 mph. Some others have it to enable owners to walk alongside the bike on hills too steep to cycle up, the bike powering itself up.

These take advantage of the Pedestrian Controlled Vehicle Regulations, originally for electric barrows like those the Post Office use. The legal speed limit is 6 kph in Europe and 4 mph in the UK.
