Yes, my Bafang rear hub has stopped working. Smooth as a nut the last few months until I started back for home today in 22 centigrade. Herd a ticking/rattling that seemed at first to be a loose front mudguard. No.
Sounded like a twig catching on the rear spokes, No.Motor them seemed a bit stiff so checked rear brake not binding. No.Was somewhat stiff working but I figured it would get me home but a few hundred yards on I heard a Twang and no more electrical assistance. Also noticed the rear wheel would no only rotate forwards but not backwards.Does this sound like the hub internal gears or freewheel arangement has broken? Ideas anyone??
Are the gears on the nearside and do I therefore undo the bolts on that side? I was able to cycle uphill home on normal gears, trying out motor actually slowed me down. The hub motor is a Bafang CST 36V 350 Watt. I believe spare gears are available if they are the culprits.
