The thread has disappeared from me for whatever reason. Here's my reply to the person who's bike wouldn't charge:

All these things are unnecessary. All you need to do is test the voltage on the charger connector and battery charge socket to get the answer for what's wrong. It could be a fuse in the battery or the charger, or it could be an inaccurate LED display. Once you know what's wrong, it's easy to sort out.

I appreciate that a lot of people wouldn't know how to do that, nor have a multi-meter to measure the voltage, but there is often somebody nearby that can do it, like a neighbour, friend, relative, etc.

These large retailers are shifting boxes. they have no technical knowledge, nor local backup. they will sort out your problem, but if you let them do it on their own, it's not going to be an efficient way to get your problem sorted quickly.
