Hi, how do people try and get the correct torque settings for the BBS02 lockrings.

I see Lunacycle sell the sockets for a torque wrench.

To do it correctly you would need a torque wrench as well, all this cost adds up.

Thanks

Pull it tight with a C-spanner, then give it a couple of whacks with a hammer and screwdriver. If your worried, put a drop of Loctite on the thread. The nut doesn't need to be particularly tight. You just have to make sure that it doesn't unscrew itself. Of course, if you use the lock-ring, it shouldn't come undone anyway. bear in mind that some people don't even use the outer lock-ring because there's no room for it!

Finding my (electric) wheels

I bought both sockets, as I already had a big torque wrench for bottom bracket removals / fitting .

Bafang sent me their basic instructions when I asked and I did find a setting for the lock ring, which I think from memory ranged from 36 NM.

I have ordered a spanner but in the end was not really happy trying to estimate, especially when the drive is powered by an electric motor.
