Hi all,

New to this so i might be barking up the wrong tree but bear with me.

I am interested in an ebike to to a 31 mile commute and from what I can tell the Shimano Steps system looks like the one i want but it is limited to 15.5mh. This is no use to me as I can easily travel that fast without assistance. What I want is the US version that is restricted to 20mph. This appears to be a firmware issue (DU-6000 vs DU6050) but I have no idea if it is possible to ref lash the system with this firmware. I have Di2/ETUBE software for my road bike but in the manuals I can't see anything about flashing firmware manually and obviously can't try it without the bike.

Anyone know if this is even possible?

Hope you can follow my objectives. Thanks!

a bad ass dongle will get you to 30 mph, mine cuts out at 33 mph ;)

I like the look of the dongles but the firmware appears to be a more elegant solution the would maintain the use of the on board computer etc.

Seems like it should be easy to do but in reality I might have it all wrong.

tbh it would do my head in if it cut out at 20 mph, tho bad ass can do the older software for the bosch motor that will go to 75kmh but will need to email them if it can be done for the steps motor.
