Using a Shimano Steps Battery on a non-shimano ebike

I have a Wisper 905 torque at doesn't have a great battery and i'm not wanting to invest much money in it, and i have a shimano steps battery from a cargo bike that it could use, as both bikes are never used at the same time. Both are 36v ... other than the obvious issues of mounting and connecting the shimano battery, is there any reason why it wouldn't work? I presume the is nothing in the shinano BMS that would stop it working with other bikes? Thanks

test the pins with a multi meter and see if you have the 36v there a bosch batt bms will not turn on unless it is sent a signal to turn on every 200 milliseconds via can bus.
