I saw this on my travels round the internet - it seems like a bit of overkill to me but maybe other more regular users of GPS think it's a good idea ?

It has a place - Anything that keeps your attention on the road has; but a bluetooth earpiece does that for me & cheaply, at that.

For anyone interested, Copilot has a bicycle setting & does the job rather well. Unfortunately, the free version available on Google Play doesn't speak directions - you have to fork out the princely sum of £20 to upgrade.
(I use BT Mono to get sound output to a mono earpiece).
