Update:
It would appear after testing the battery again it shows 35.7v when idle but 0 if I try and put a load on it. I just plugged it into the charger for a moment and it woke and now turns on again. This seems to be its normal behavior and I am at a loss, my gut tells me it has something to do with the controller in the battery or the cells themselves, does anyone have a link to a recommended seller I could use to find a replacement?

35.7vmeans nothing and there might a dead cell group within hence the 0v reading as the BMS senses a fault. What you need to do is fully charge the battery and then check the charged voltage, it should read 41.5v - 42v.
