Which cable from controller to LCD, brakes, throttle?

I'd like to extend/splice in extra cable between controller and LCD/brakes/throttle on my Cyclotricity kit but not sure which kind of cable to use and how many cores I'd need. Would I need all 8 cores for this? 6 core is easier to find than 8 core. I can see that the Julet connector on the loom has 8 pins.

I'd like to cut and rejoin this cable to thread internally in a new frame. It's only just long enough as it is so any cutting and rejoining will also require a length of wire to be added.

The wires are:

36v to LCD
Ground
36v back from LCD to power controller
Tx data
Rx data
5v
Throttle signal
Brake signal

so you need 8 conductors. You could use two 4 conductor cables

Much appreciated Dave, that's a huge help.

Am I right in thinking I should just solder them in and wrap with electrical tape and heatshrink or is there a better way?

Thin heatshrink on the single conductors and larger diameter heatshrink to cover all of them when done. You should think about staggering the joins so that you don't get a massive bulge.
