Will the price of Ebike go up due to the investigation on China's Ebike?

I have seen news about EU opening investigations on China's Ebike recently. It seems that huge duties will be added to those Ebike from China to help EU Ebike company develop their competitiveness. Since most of Ebike's component and even Ebike are made in China, is that mean the price of Ebike will go up after the policy is implemented? Should I buy my Ebike as soon as I could? Thank you.

I don't think you should worry about imminent price rise.

It's not a done deal at present Brian, the trade dispute the EU claims about dumping and have banded together to try to defeat the introduction.

As a precaution some are investigating assembly elsewhere such as Portugal within the EU, or even here in the UK.

There's an 18 page thread on this issue in the forum, within which you'll be able to learn all that is happening. It's on this link. The last page details the collective response.

Nothing to worry about mainly just big name EU brands trying collar the market for themselves and cause mischief , China builds will just move else where within EU, Far east/Asia. Then the merry go round would start up all again.

Cheers ! The link you provided is really helpful. I do hope this policy will not be implemented.

Thank you, maybe it will take some time for China's factory move into EU. By the way, do you believe in China's Ebike product? Are they good? Because I'm still thinking about which to choose.
