  • Turn the bike upside down.
  • Unclip the motor cable and wiggle the connector apart that sits under the right side chain-stay
  • Wiggle off the black plastic cap and push it up the cable.
  • Straighten the cable so that it's in line with the axle for the first inch or so.
  • Undo the nut completely until it's off the axle and resting on the cable.
  • Make a note of how any washers are positioned, especially the anti-rotation (tab) washer, then pull any outboard ones up the cable out the way.
  • Move to the other side and remove the black cap from the axle/nut.
  • Loosen the nut until there are three or 4 clear threads.
  • Note the positions of the washers, etc
  • Give the wheel a sideways bash with the heel of your hand, which should loosen it in the drop-outs.
  • Hold the derailleur back out of the way and lift the wheel out
  • Re-assembly is the exact reverse, starting with the previous point.
  • Make sure that the disc lines up with the slot in the caliper as you wiggle the wheel into the drop-outs.
  • Use a 10mm spanner to hold the axlw flats vertical while you wiggle the axle in
  • Make sure that you have the slot in the axle facing upwards (with the bike upside down) so that the cable exits downwards when the bike is upright.
