  1. Great stuff, rear wheel eZee conversion on Ridgeback Supernova. Cycling is now fun again!
  2. Yorkshire has gone out of its way to welcome the tour.

I am interested but I first need to know the exact time and location when it was purchased please. MS.
  4. Yes spent a marvellous day on Holme Moss. Massive traffic jams afterwards, but all taken in good spirit. I did not see anyone lose their temper. I did see lots of spectators with brand new bikes and lots with bikes that look they were seeing the light of day for the first time in many years.
  5. Well I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, and so did everyone else around me! I dont see why you need to be a cyclist to support and enjoy a world class sporting event.. The back draft nearly blew my hat off! Unfortunately no e-bikes in this video...
  6. Wait until you get married.
  7. Helen...it just goes to prove that blokes can't multitask....trying to answer Pedelecs plus all the sport was just too much....I made a mistake on that posting, apologies. The Tornado(26"wheel) and Typhoon(29"wheel) are speed sensor. The Arriba(26"wheel) and Escape(29"wheel)are torque sensor. KudosDave
  8. Watched the sprint into Keighley... wow, were they moving fast or what!! Just a 5 min walk from home.
  9. Thanks Artstu! Good idea re the 11Ah in one, we will look into the possibility. Re the name, it is so tough to find something new, originally it was going to be Falcon, to go with the FreeGo Eagle, Wren, Hawk, and Martin. However the Falcon has been done to death. We did search Raptor and found the kids bike and a quad bike but not the one John showed, it seemed perfect for the bike, it just fitted. But well done John! At the end of the day, it's about the bike and not the name, I believe someone once said " What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". Maybe we should have called it the Romeo and the forthcoming mixte version the Juliette? The bike is a bit niche and not for the mountains, but around the city it is perfection and at £799.00 a cracking buy. Our stockists have taken it up with more verve than any other bike launch. So much so, that we have just had to place an order for our third container. Happy days! All the best and have a great week! David
  10. I will be riding right past the start line here in Cambridge this morning at 8:00am on my way to work Jerry
  11. Good idea I'll give it a go! Like to think I would have thought of this when I actually tried it !
  12. It's an interesting idea I really really really struggle to see the difference between a £1K and £1.5 bike sometimes
  13. The other member is me and I've now had my ride on the Delite. Firstly, thanks to Croxden - aka Mike - for the offer, he is not the least bit precious about his £4K+ bike and told me to give it a good test. We rode a shortened version of one of his regular routes, Mike was on my AVE and I was on his Delite. The ride was mostly on quiet lanes, but also took in a glorious mile-long climb on a forest track. My over-riding impression is the stability and comfort of the Delite. Quality suspension both ends makes a huge difference to the riding experience. I'm a slow descender, but hit nearly 30mph on the Delite - it felt rock solid. Small imperfections which would have pitched my Rose off line made no difference to Mike's bike. Similarly, on the slow climb through the forest the bike sailed serenely over ruts and bumps which would have deflected lesser machinery. I liked the stability, but also the comfort - you are not jostled and jarred on a Delite in the way you are even on a 29er such as my Rose. Mike's bike has the Rohloff gear hub, which is about the best (a lot of) money can buy. It performed faultlessly, but the twist grip change requires a bit of effort and I wouldn't need all 14 gears. As Mike has pointed out, speccing lowly derailleurs brings the price down to well under £4K. I was a bit disappointed by the new Bosch motor, no more grunt than my Rose, and my impression was that it used more battery power. The motor was also noisier than my Rose. I have two Bosch bikes and both seem noisier some days than others. On this evidence the new Bosch motor is no better than the old one, although it and the battery do look neater. I liked the handlebars on the Delite, which are swept back a little. The excellent stability could lead to ponderous steering, but the bike changed direction plenty fast enough for me. Carrying luggage can be a problem with full-suss bikes. Not so with the Delite - it has an integrated rack. Mike uses a trunk bag, but the rack would also take panniers. Full mudguards is another plus point, as is decent integrated lights. For my type of riding, it is the ideal package. If I had to replace the Rose tomorrow, I can't think of a better bike to do it than a Delite Hybrid.
  14. I reckon it the BPM motors, or lacing them into a rim that's the problem.
  15. Thank you. That did the trick. I am very grateful. Another splendid example of the value of this forum.

Hi sorry I didnt reply to your message but I have actually been to Buxton today and been up and down hills on one of your fabulous bikes. I have not been on a bike since last october since having 3 operations and 6 sessions of chemo, but your bike came up trumps!!!! I have ordered one today and cant wait for your call to say it's ready to collect, thankyou so much, Nanny ogg
  17. if the charger has only one LED, it will go from red (charging) to green when your battery is fully charged. With two LED, one LED will stay red (power) the other will go drom red (charging) to green.
  18. It certainly fits my style of converting bikes into light e-assist. I tend to run with 3 and 6AH 36V DIY batteries. Perfect for my short 10 mile round trip daily flat commute. Of course for a city bike/commuter you would need to add mudguards and luggage rack which then increases the weight. The same if you want good puncture protection. Whilst I love fast rolling slick tyres its just not practical in the winter given the need to repair punctures. Are you using one of the KeyDe motors ? Two of my light weight conversions Dahon Duo with 1.5kg KeyDe motor weighs 12.5Kg carry weight and a bag then goes on with the battery inside it connected by an umbilical My 11.5Kg cary weight Titanuim 2 speed Brompton again with electrics and battery in the bag up front with an umbilical. As stated these bikes are really light assist and require about 1/3 normal effort on flat terrain to get up to 15-16mph. Take offs and inclines are a breeze though Your bike certainly looks good and seems like good value, but again as stated I am not sure how large the client base will be.I experimented with single speed but IMHO you need a minimum of two for ebikes. With single speed users will probably find it too high to start off with and too low once up to speed. Having built and converted light weight folders for four or five years now I am not sure that its a business I would like to rely on as my sole form of income. Anyway great effort in bringing a light weight option to the market. I wish you well for the future with high number of sales Regards Jerry
