Powabyke’s new XLS sells out, marking a big year for electric bikes

Powabyke says it has seen high demand for its newly released XLS step-through electric bike. MD of Powabyke, Nick Child said of the sales boom, “It’s great news that the last two containers have flown out of the door in a few days. We are really impressed on how the marketing of the new product has worked and equally impressed that the IBD’s have embraced the new XLS bike so well.

From Powabyke:

Powabyke’s newly released Mark 2 XLS low step-through model from their X-Byke range of electric bikes has seen an unprecedented demand this year and has sold out twice!
The XLS has traditionally been a popular model in the range of three bikes, the X-6, X-24 and XLS, due to the fact it is so easy to mount and ride, has a fully adjustable seat stand and its design has been re-developed.

The low step-through design hasn’t been limited to the traditional target customer of female riders, with sales at about 50/50 across the gender divide. People are buying the low step through design for its accessibility advantages and its performance that will power them up hills at speeds of 15 mph providing a quality, cost-effective vehicle for commuting.
Powabyke were impressed and delighted at the extremely high level of demand from IBDs and have forward orders reaching out to the next two container deliveries.

MD of Powabyke, Nick Child said of the sales boom, “It’s great news that the last two containers have flown out of the door in a few days. We are really impressed on how the marketing of the new product has worked and equally impressed that the IBD’s have embraced the new XLS bike so well.

“We think we are experiencing an ‘attitude shift’ in the UK market. Where traditionally the nation’s male population intuitively purchased a bike with a cross-bar this is now changing gradually and we are ‘going European’. I’m now looking forward to releasing the XF folding bike later this year.’’
Staff at Powabyke noticed early signs of significant growth in the demand for their electric bikes earlier in the year but the subsequent escalation in demand could be described as phenomenal.
