Electric Bikes Controller Protocol
Hello there, we are developing a system to reed the controllers information between the bike and controller. So we want to reed the motor power, current, speed, battery voltage etc. Che have been checking and there seems to be lot of different controllers protocols. There is the ones that works with the KT LCD3, then is the one that use the Cycle analyst, and also there is the UART that comes with Bafang motors. Do any one has an idea to clarify this situation, because we are getting a bit lost here. Regards!

Problem with full throttle motor stop pushing
Hi, I tried to be as specific as possible in the title. This is my problem, I work for an small neighbor and we bought 10 e bikes from a quite professional builder at china. When they sent the sample with bafang hub motor it worked great. Then to make it a little cheaper we decided to use a cheaper motor that they recommend us. The deal is next: The bike has pas sensor for pedal assist and also throttle, if you are stop, and you use full throttle from cero, the motor push at full power for a second and then it just stop pushing. I´m an electronic engineer, so I start debugging the problem. 1) I realized it just happen when the batteries where not full charged (some cases also with full charged battery), I check battery voltages at full charge and 5 more times while it was getting discharge time to time and it is correct comparing with the discharge curve. Then, few times this problem happened, the KT LCD showed error 06, this error means a short circuit at the motor or controller. But the error desapegar immediately and the bike start working well again. 2)I realized that if we accelerate from cero but very cerfull to not use full throttle, the bike works well. (I started to think it could be a problem of current limit at the motor or the controller) 3)I got into the KT LCD configuration, and at the C5 parameter (it limits the current at the controller) it was set at number 10, it means no current limit. So it would mean that if there is a current problem it should be at the motor. So I set the C5 parameter to 01, it is slow start, so even if you push full throttle from cero, the bike will accelerate smoothly. After this, the bike started to work well, so I believe I confirm it was a current issue, and the error 06 (short circuit) was given just because of the full throttle the controller mesure the current and felt it was too much. (perhaps because of the motor internal resistance was too little) The strange thing is that the motor is 500W and it used to stop pushing when it gets very quickly the 650W.. From china they are telling me to test different things but I understand that it is a current limit problem, does any one had this problem or know what could be causing it? Thank you very much from now if you answer me.

Bafanga bottom bracket torque sensor.
Ok, but this is the deal, I have got a rear hub motor with integrated torque sensor and with pas sensor at the crank, and of course de controller that fits it, and it has a huge difference with the bikes that just use PAS sensor. No I´m looking to switch into a front motor, because I´m 2m tall and almost 100kg, so with the battery at the rear rack, plus motor, plus me, the rear wheel is not having a great time. Thats why I´m looking for someone who has tried the Bafanga bb torque sensor.

Bafanga bottom bracket torque sensor.
Hi, how are you? I have been checking around about this Bafanga sensor, http://www.szbaf.com/en/components/component/sensor/sr-pa2132st.html And I couldn't finde anything about it, no brand using it or any single person talking about it. Has some one try it? Do any one knows if any brand or any friend of you has use it? Regards

What is the consumption of each motor wire?
Hi, I´m building a case for my battery, and now I´m choosing the connectors so I don´t have to send the wires into the case. My bike has a 250W geared motor with torque sensor. For the signal cables is ok, there is full of connectors for that. But, what about the motor wires? It has 5 wires for signal and three for power, this three power wires that goes to the inductions, what would be the maximum Amps it would consum? At the controller this wire says 1,5mm2, I have cheked out, and it means the wire can resist a maximum of arround 5 amps each, is it ok? Regards!

Problem with hub motor torque sensor and single speed
Yes, I was thinking about something like that, but it bring me to another question, when I make the motor spin and get a close look at the crowns I see like it moves a lot, but a movement like a wave, it is like the crowns (same for one speed than for 6 speed) are not exactly perpendicular. Do I explain my self?

Problem with hub motor torque sensor and single speed
Hi, thanks for your answer, now I´ve discover what the problem was. Results that the single speed crown was to width, so it tuchs the torque sensor (which is the hub thread and a little ring around it) and a part of the motor too, so when I pedal the crown gots tight and the torque sensor was not able to see any change when I stops pedaling. It doesn't happen at the 6 speed because the shape of the crown and the way it gets could to the hub. What I would like to know is if there is any single speed crown with different shape as the shimano ones? because I need one with a quite thin thread to avoid this problem. Sorry for my bad english!

Problem with hub motor torque sensor and single speed
Hi, I´m having a problem with my hub motor kit conversion, it works with a torque sensor inside the motor, and works great when I use the 6 speed, but when I change it to single speed the torque sensor just acts like crazy and the motor is always pushing, do any one knows why would it be? Regards

About hubs at mid drive conversion
Sure, I was forgotten about the 9 speed, single speed is the idea. An I´m thinking about if use an old steel frame or re build with new and stronger steel tubes and copy the bike frame shape.

About hubs at mid drive conversion
I´m thinking to use an Etek motor, I have seen some conversions from bikes with this motor, but because of it power I thought about hubs and frame resistance. Do you think is too much power for a bike frame?

About hubs at mid drive conversion
So a bike frame should be ok for a 2KW motor? I would like to see your conversions if you have pictures, and thanks for your answers.

And about the frame? Does it matter if it is of Aluminium or steel? Which would be better? Regards

About hubs at mid drive conversion
Hi, I´m new at the forum, I´m developing my new mid drive electric bike, and I have got this question about the hubs, if I use a heavy mid drive motor, with big battery pack, plus my weight and controller and stuff, should´t I change my bike hubs, spokes and rim for stronger ones? I would like to know if some one can explain me that. Regards!
