  4. Imhave to be honest i kmow nothing about maintenence. All i can do is lube the chain area. However i did pay a LBS for a service after a year. Whch got me a new chain, spokes tightened, some new rear cogs wahtver they are called, lol.
  5. At the moment its probably so rare that for every ebike commuter ramping up the mileage, there are 100 doing doing well under a thousand a year.
  6. Just to add. Im a leisure user. About 1000 miles or so ober 14 months. No issues at all.
  7. Where ate you Andy? Im in Bexley. I have an oxygen mtb younzre welcome to have a go on if your nearby.
  8. Poor driving, as an ADI i feel confident thst if sny of my pupils pulled that on a test they would have been dualled by the examiner. Poor forward planning, after all they were turning left anyway. Dangerous etc. I have it all the time on my bike round here.
  9. Im 17 stone and struggle with my oxygen mtb up steep hills. Luckily i can avoid them easily around here. I would get a crank drive if i needed better hill climbing.
  10. If you want merino thermals. Which i swear by as i aweat in synthetics. Then please look at uk based EDZ merino. Great customer service too.
  11. Last night me and the lad had a cycle through the snow covered local, parks. However this morning there was a lot more snow and without assist imthink he would have been stuffed. Now a lot has melted but has turned to ice on the pavements and quiet roads. So no cycling for us. Im so tempted to get the wife the little Benelli city link sport, as i know she would hardly use it and the lad would love it . Lol.
  12. One guy on here has a rack and panniers over the front wheel of his big bear.
  13. More power andy? I thought it just cut out later. Ive nly every done the wheel size hack.
  14. I got my little boy a small rockrider 2nd hand after gearing great reviews. Its been great
  15. If i remener correctly better brakes on the mtb and front shocks were the main two.
  16. Hi Andy. My local bike store in Sidcup had my Oxygen in for a service and to replace a chain etc. When i went to pick it up we chatted for a bit. The bloke said do you mind me asking wahtnthis cost? I told him about 1400. He said i thought it would be a lot more. We have had a few in over the years and they are generally very poor quality bikes. This is a decent bike with good components. Nice to hear, i thought.
  17. Maybe mike. There is a huge difference in the way these two sets of bikes work and feel. The haibikes have the motor by the crank directly driving the bike by the chain. It creates more torque but they do seem to have reliability issues and the chains get a lot of stress. The ride is more natural as it boosts you relative to the amount of torque you apply. However you have to apply that pressure. The hub drives like the wisper and freego are easier to ride and more reliable. They generally work off a cadence sensor. Allthough the wisper uses Torque and cadence so you can have the best of both. The advadvantage of cadence is you can take it easy when you want and gear slections isn't as important. There are some hub drives with the battery more central and have mtb qualities. Check out. Woosh, oxygen and kudos to name three.
