  1. Curious how other members are getting on with their Rios now it has been out about a year? Mine is now up for sale as surplus to requirements (need garage room for motorbike) but other than that one issue where the controller was replaced promptly under warranty, covered 912 trouble free miles. Not a single puncture in that time either.

For sale. Less than 12 months old so still has some warranty and very good condition, almost 'as new' just has one small scratch on the frame. Maintained regularly. Comes with luggage rack, rack bag, a few tools, manuals, very bright CREE LED lights, comfortable aftermarket seat and grips (originals thrown in), and 5.5 inch phone waterproof holder. Covered 912 miles. Pics can be seen on the Woosh website but ive attached one also. £750 ONO collection from south Leicestershire.
  3. What am i supposed to do with the battery over winter? Not ridden in about a month and when i was did the battery was 3/4 full. Should I charge it fully or leave it alone? Its in the garage right now
  4. The longer route is obscenely longer. And since it happens so infrequently ill take my chances. Guess ill just do as I did before
  5. The thing with the middle finger is you dont know what nutter is behind the wheel. He could in a moment of rage nudge me enough to come off the bike and not brake in time to prevent running me over.
  6. Part of my daily journey is on a 60mph road which a lot of lorries and other HGV's use. There's no path either. I've been riding on it since May and today encountered my first problem. A HGV driven by a lobotomised gibbon comes behind me and after a short while paps his horn. He then does it again and flashes his lights. This continues for a while before i raise a hand as if to say, 'what, just go', but he doesn't, so i just shrug my shoulders at him and carry on. About a mile after he finally has the balls to overtake on a mile long straight. Worth noting he wimped out of overtaking at 3 other easy opportunities with no bends or oncoming traffic. Is there anything else that can be done other than stopping, lifting onto the grass verge and letting him pass?
  7. Im away over the weekend but assuming it is the case, what is the fix for it?
  8. 'Isn't that cheating?' 'Not if you're in an open relationship'
  9. Hows everyone getting on with their Rio's? At around 850 miles now. Only doing around 30 miles a week, using throttle a lot more just to get to where I need to go quicker. Its getting cold and the wind always seems to be against me lol. No issues to report, try to keep up on maintenance. Expected some loose spokes by now due to some of the rough terrain i've been on but so far so good. Front brake squeak has returned, it's really loud but it still brakes firmly. Maybe a contaminated pad?
  10. Aldi has a load of cyclist stuff this week. I got some nice thermal gloves and socks, didn't like the jackets and other layers though. Possibly the best purchase is a pair of lights. Built in rechargeable batteries via USB. Genuine CREE LED's. With the front light, even on the dimmest setting its too bright to look directly at it. Very impressed, nice heavy duty mounts too.
  11. If you buy some let us know how they fit.
  12. Nothing much to update. At 770 miles now (Do i hold the record for most miles on the Rio?). So 30 miles overdue my 250 mile service schedule. I'm not exactly sure what to actually service, so I just did the usual which is: 1. Clean entire bike with warm water and car shampoo 2. Degrease chain 3. Oil chain 4. Check all bolts are tight 5. Clean and regrease battery connection point as well as spray a little oil in the key slot 6. Check tyre pressures (I do this every couple of weeks anyway) both at 50psi, I last inflated them maybe a month ago to 55ish PSI, very impressed. Anything else I should be checking? I notice oil does accumulate on the forks but I just wipe it off and carry on. When I last charged the battery from flat it took about 6.45. I hit a bit of pavement today which was glistening with tiny glass fragments and still no puncture to date. Edit: I was also getting irritated to the incredibly squeaky front brake. So I took the pads out and roughed them up with sand paper and applied a bit of copper grease on the pad holder, seems to have cleared it up.
  13. All you need to do is bump the amps to 17 and remove the speed limiter to 20+ mph (whatever speed you want) which will of course void the warranty but if you buy yourself one of Woosh's 17ah batteries when they come in stock you should get some good range even with the speed limiter removed, and will have a spare, charged battery ready to swap in while the other is on charge
  14. Definitely fitter now than when I got the bike. I can ride on assist 1 now and rarely go over assist 2 unless the battery is starting to die. Whereas before I couldn't. I was doing zero cardio at all before purchase. That said I have gained weight anyway since despite going to the gym 3 days a week and cycling, i've been lazy with diet and had too many take aways. But i'm still only 12 stone 4. Plan to get back down to around 11 stone.
  15. I didnt time it and charged it last night so ill run it down again then time it
