  1. Waving from the other side of Newbury! Enjoy the ride!
  2. I had a look when converting my gravel bike earlier in the year (as the front has a thru axle) and couldn't find a solution.
  3. I'm dumb founded by this, it makes no sense. I ride occasionally with a friend who gets to the top of a steep hill and proudly declares he's still in his middle cog on the front - I try to explain cadence and knee damage etc but he just thinks he's a better cyclist by not using his lower gears where I have.
  4. Just a silly idea, but how about having a look at the Civic. A very usable car day to day but they have very innovative rear seats that fold back in such a way that with the front wheel popped off I feel you could wheel two bikes in through the rear doors. This saves too much lifting and gives you the boot to load (added extra of the bikes acting as a luggage guard I guess).
  5. So [and sorry, I'm sure it's in the description] but is the idea that you set it when you walk off and if anyone moves the bike the alarm goes off? I'm out in woop-woop but still useful for the shed
  6. I'm with Neath, I'm very happy with my 250w rear hub conversion, good to 25mph if unrestricted but it's not very hilly here and its useful reminder never to have a go on a 1500w one!
  7. That looks a lovely bike Tony, very stealthy all in black. You've obviously put alot of thought into it and deserve to do well
  8. That's absolutely beautiful. I had assumed based on your post time it was North America but see you're in Italy so must have just got back from a club!
  9. I was accused of not being a cyclist because I didn't know a couple of expensive racing brands lol
  10. Well, that's generally advised anyway (a set of brakes connected directly to the motor to ensure that it also cuts out the motor). Your only challenge would be to how to fit them onto the straight part of the drop handlebar as it'll be wider than the brakes allow
  11. It's a noble intention and your right to follow through on that! Clearly as you have the Haibike at the moment you're not going into this totally blind. Your call on riding an a pedelec that's illegal - I'm certainly not against the idea. If it helps, I've only just got into pedelecs having converted a heavy road bike with a Woosh 250w rear hub and 17am battery. I mention it as I'm moderately fit and have to work fairly hard to average 17mph on it over a flat 1hr ride to work. The conclusion: you're going to need to go illegal!
  12. +1 wot VFR400 said. If you want to stick to BEV consider a Super Soco as it'll work for your height where it was too small for me at 6ft 3in. Or a Nui scooter if you want to hide behind a bit of screen. www.green-mopeds.com have a good selection [i'm not affiliated in any way]
  13. Me too. Although I like the coloured headers for "electric bikes", "Conversion kits" etc. That's a nice clear division of interest
  14. Great, love the video diary you keep. Yes, range comes a close 2nd to cost that's keeping me away from a BEV. We have a PHEV which works well for our needs out in the UK countryside, my hope is it lasts us for 5-7 years and by then BEV options will work for me.
