Another what e bike thread!
Made me laugh, I looked at that lot and right at the bottom it said "None at the moment". Whether that`s the case or not I don`t know.........Just annoying when sites are not kept up to date.

Solar 'Generator' thought experiment.
I`v had experience of someone putting their generator on at a campsite and going out for the evening. I resolved if it ever happened again I`d #8$%* switch the thing off. I think I may have mentioned this before on this forum. Still irks me now thinking of it. Deep breaths deep breaths............

Bargains
"Fish and chip portion sizes have at least doubled since I was a kid".............if not more. I was only saying this the other day. We used to get a 6d (2.5p) bag of chips at a local chip shop and this fitted in a cupped hand about the same size as a 1/4 (4oz) of sweets. those were the days

More Seizures
Not happening here yet as far as I know I see to me obviously illegal retail sold e-bikes ridden by the unsuspecting public. But have noticed a lot of the delivery ones do not have the dinner plates now. Maybe they have been targeted in the town centre.

Old photos
Trolley busses were in my home town of Maidstone for years. If I remember correctly they carried long poles to put the overhead couplings back on if they got derailed off the overhead points cable system. Yes and sixpence to go to the pictures on a Saturday morning Hop along Cassidy and all that. If it was your birthday you got to go up on the stage to get something, sweets probably. I cant remember ever going up. There was always a few birthday kids each week. No doubt some were having a few birthdays every year. Another six pence was spent at Sunday school. Got your book rubber stamped put your sixpence in some velvet bag thingy they put in front you. Boring!! No doubt my mum and dad were having much better Sunday mornings with us kids out of the way. Working on the next one!

Lost throttle control, oxygen eMate MTB from 2015
I found this via google Key Rules for E-bike Throttles (UK Police Enforcement) Police forces use the following criteria to determine the legality of an e-bike's throttle mechanism on public roads: "Walk-assist" Throttles are Legal: The only type of throttle generally permitted on a standard EAPC (without further approval as a moped) is one that provides assistance without pedalling up to a maximum speed of 6 km/h (approximately 3.7 mph). This is designed for moving the bike from a standstill (e.g., at traffic lights) or pushing it up a ramp. Full-speed Throttles are Generally Illegal: A "twist and go" throttle that can propel the bike to speeds above 6 km/h (3.7 mph) without the rider needing to pedal means the bike is classified as a moped or motorcycle. Conditions for Full-speed Throttles: An e-bike with a full-speed throttle (assisting up to 15.5 mph without pedalling) can be legal, but only if it has been "type-approved" by the DVSA as an L1e category low-powered moped. This process requires the owner to: Register and tax the vehicle. Have appropriate insurance. Display a number plate. Possess a driving licence (provisional or full) and wear a motorcycle crash helmet. [*] E-bikes Sold Before 2016: E-bikes with a full-speed throttle sold before January 1, 2016, are exempt and still considered legal EAPCs.

Display unit or controller fault?
.....and you still wouldn't know if that really would be the case no matter what any representative says until a fateful day. I`m in agreement with Mr bridge above and was in a situation where I needed a generic part for my own conversion and Ali express came to the rescue.

Battery Fires
Anyone interested in the latest "bike" tech should look at GCN TECH on YouTube. The GCN channel is a great cycle channel, well and humorously presented. I should add very little ebike content.
