  1. Hi guys I have the chance to buy this bike for £1800 under the cycle to work scheme. I currently have a Crossfire bike which I love. Any thoughts on this one in terms of performance, value, comparison to my existing bike etc? Looks like the battery is in the bike - any concerns? Many thanks as always, Mark
  2. Very helpful re lights. I have ordered. Any suggestions on bottle cage?
  3. I bought my crossfuse from Halfords and haven't regretted it. As others have said super quiet and great range. I don't think there are bolts for a bottle cage. Can anyone recommend an alternative? Also looking for some lights for daytime type use - not too expensive and ideally from Amazon - any suggestions? many thanks
  4. I think the suggestion was the electrics wouldn't be covered. I'd be surprised if Bosch really are that fussy
  5. Ah sorry - no its an annual policy which includes one of their bronze services and 2 silver services in the year - https://www.halfords.com/advice/cycling/service/service-centre?rmsrc=1&cm_mmc=GooglePPC-_-PACS%20-%20Tools%20%26%20Maintenance%20-%20Service-_-Service-_-Text%20Ad&source=ppc&_$ja=tsid:57505%7Ccid:1739468379%7Cagid:69803797642%7Ctid:aud-271742666404:kwd-367337404%7Ccrid:224645307966%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:1240574794794932695%7Cdvc:c%7Cadp:%7Cmt:p%7Cloc:9046225&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI176chpyG5wIVV-DtCh3XFwawEAAYASAAEgK9nfD_BwE
  6. Hi all, Carrera Crossfuse picked up and ride home real nice. There was however some slight noise while peddling which didn't sound right so need to get checked. Halfords guy recommended £70 pa servicing saying it was a condition of Bosch warranty that your bike was serviced. I have until this weekend to decide whether I take this out. I'd welcome any views. thanks Mark
  7. LOL - no I put her under the patio.
  8. So my new bike arrives Tuesday. Next challenge - get the right security. Its a Carrera Crossfuse and will be locked at home in a locked shed, left outside Lidl sometimes when I pick up the shopping and on the odd occasion elsewhere eg Newark town centre. Ideally I'm wanting a lock I can use at home and when travelling but appreciate 2 different locks might be needed. I understand some locks provide "insurance" though a quick look indicates that's only if the bike disappears by the lock being broken - not sure that will always be something easy to prove however this would be a bonus. Thoughts welcome. thanks Mark
  9. Gosh - I did start hares running! So as the OP I probably should share that after a few days of very helpful input from the forum I have gone for a.... Carrera Crossfuse. I was really torn and Woosh look brilliant and love the design and the speed of replies etc but ultimately I had just heard too many times from the experienced the benefit of a Bosch motor etc. Time will tell whether I've made a good choice. Thanks all.
  10. That's great feedback & just what I need to feel comfortable - this is all new territory to me!
  11. Thanks Tony - may call tomorrow.
  12. My question was on Woosh - was this a suggested alternative? I'm 5ft 8", 29 in inside leg so this bike looks too big anyway though thanks for the input (if intended!)
  13. Woosh input in the forums is prolific and everything I have found is positive. For those following my search for a new bike I went into Cycle Republic today to be told the 10% discount voucher I have through work is not valid on sale bikes. I wouldn't mind but this is not what the terms & conditions say so feeling a bit miffed as that would have saved me £150 on the Crossfuse and brought it to a reasonable £1350. However this disappointment has led me back to looking at the Woosh bikes. The camino looks fun with the throttle as does the faro though I'd probably want the larger battery (be lovely to be able to add this just when you need it and use the smaller one the rest of the time). I will probably give them a call to chat through but meanwhile welcome any further feedback from purchasers good or bad. I am in Newark so any problems with the bike will be far more difficult than walking into my local Halfords but the bike looks excellent value for money. Also can anyone comment on delivery time? Finally, any experience of real world range for these 2 bikes please? Thanks for everyone's continued help in my search. Mark
  14. See my earlier post re trying to locate my first bike. I've now spotted this one and would welcome any thoughts from experts/owners
  15. Thanks again Rob. Anyone recommend cycle republic or not! Anywhere else I should be looking? Cant see others doing a Bosch powered bike at this price.
