1. You could always enter an event, apparently you can then go as fast as you want. TTFN John.
2. Thanks for the reply saneagle, Yes I can confirm the disc is a steady 1mm or so from the sensor. confirmed by sliding a thin piece of card between the 2 and checking the distance is constant throughout pedal rotation. The disc was tight on the shaft. After removing the disc I can see the sensor is quite badly scored, not unusual I guess after 5 year of crud picked up during use? I do have another Vengeance (Same version). So unless there is an easy way to confirm if the sensor is OK once I have checked the continuity of the connections I plan to start simple part substitution until the issue moves to the other bike. (Hopefully I don't end up with neither working). But I probably will not get chance to do this for a day or so. TTFN John.
3. Hi All, I have an old 2018 Carrera Vengeance E-Bike which despite the less than illustrious reviews has been faultless until now. Today while out for a ride I lost all pedal assistance. After a sweaty ride home a few hours later I put it on the stand and and it worked perfectly for a short time before failing again. When it stops working the PAS LED goes out and then returns at a constant "dimmed" brightness. (No familiar flashing as the magnets pass the sensor). A further wait and the exercise is repeated. Does this point towards the PAS failing, or could their be another culprit? Final question for the moment. Assuming I do need to replace the PAS (They are cheap enough). Mine is a 12 magnet version. Do I need to replace like for like? Or would a different number of magnets be any advantage? I appreciate I will need to match connectors (Or do some soldering),and ensure +ve, -ve and signal wires match. Will I break anything if I get this wrong? Any extra information required just let me know, and I'll reply as soon as I can. (I haven't pulled the controller out of its housing yet). Thanks in advance as always TTFN John.
4. I have the Cyrusher XF650 and I'm very pleased with it. The webpage says it has a 250W motor but I doubt it very much. (Although it does come with a sticker saying it is 250W, so who am I to argue). https://www.cyrusher.co.uk/products/xf650-ebike?_pos=1&_psq=xf65&_ss=e&_v=1.0 TTFN John.
5. Sadly not legal in the UK. (But nice none the less). If I had that kind of money and the restrictions didn't exist I would probably go for something in the Optibike range TTFN John.
6. As I admitted immediately after flecc's initial accusation, it was nothing more than a poorly phrased reply on my part and as Tony1951 indicates I meant to say... And not... "Don't make the top of the list". Which was a poor choice of words. flecc, seized on the reference to "The Top" and decided to run with it for his own agenda. It is very easy in today's social climate to shout racist or simply add "phobia" to almost any descriptive term to try to label someone for whatever reason. I have usually found flecc to be a good debater and as I mentioned I was disappointed he chose to accuse so quickly considering he had already suggested racism as an option to Tony's earlier post. But hey, bigger things to worry about in the world, if flecc met my social group he would not have come to that conclusion for sure. TTFN John.
7. I felt you were playing the racism card for no real reason and as I said my reply was ill phrased. What do I feel he should be doing better? I don't think he handles policing well at all and I think that impacts the lives of many Londoners who simply want to get on with their lives. The frequency of various marches and protests and the disruption to the lives of the people who live and work in those areas isn't in the interest of the majority. When large groups of people feel threatened and intimidated in their own city there is something fundamentally wrong. In those areas specifically I think he has either lost control or is simply putting his own agenda ahead of the city he is supposed to represent. Robbery up 58%, Theft up 31%, Sex offenses up 43%. While I am not against ULEZ schemes. I think his ULEZ expansion is simply a cash grabbing exercise and if it does anything it simply moves the perceived problem somewhere else. I think he is too political, but that's just a personal opinion and unfortunately can probably be aimed at most mayors throughout the country although I do think Andy Burnham shows how to strike the correct balance of politics and the mayoral position. TTFN John.
8. That was not what I said and you know it. A poor phrasing of a sentence on my part possibly. But your obvious intent to make it appear so is simply disappointing. TTFN John.
9. I'm quite surprised to see the racism card brandished so quickly by you flecc, I expected a more reasoned argument. I'm sure "Tony19512 doesn't need me or anyone else to defend him, but as a non Londoner I see a lot which makes me glad I don't live in the area and Khan's ethnic background or religious leanings don't make the top of the list at all. But plenty of other things he should be concentrating on as mayor do. YMMV TTFN John.
10. Regarding Moon landings etc.. Call me gullible, but yes I believe they happened and I also think the photo's were taken on the moon. But do I think what we have been given as evidence has been enhanced to the extent that what are seen as errors/evidence of collusion are simply mistakes or limitations in whatever photo editor they used in the late 60's to clean them up. Don't get me started on the Twin Towers though, it takes weeks of analysis to get even a 20 floor office block to come down in a small footprint. 110 floors (2 of them)? No chance, had those come down on their own they would have been spread across several blocks. TTFN John.
11. Remind anyone of "Capricorn 1"? TTFN John.
12. I have to admit I feel somewhat fortunate that I can't have a smart meter. Gas was not available at our address for many years after we purchased the property and it only became available after a distribution park was built a short distance away. However the gas supply which is a branch off the retail park system is apparently not compatible with a normal domestic system requiring a different meter calibration which is not possible for smart meters. (Yes it makes no sense to me either considering most retail and manufacturing properties have smart meters fitted). So happy days for me, I still get the various deals such as the "EON Next Pledge" tariff which requires a smart meter but when they try to install one they end up leaving with their tail between their legs never to be heard of again. TTFN John.
