  1. I think the op was lucky that her purchase of the ADO 28 fell through. It doesn’t have any gears so her hill climbs could have been problematic with that bike.
  2. Maybe take a trip to Halfords and try both to see which one you prefer. I think you will prefer hub gears rather than derailleur. Also you will be able to see if you can get the battery off easily before committing to buying the bike. The staff should be able to explain the differences with each gear option and also show you how to take the battery off. I have seen people test riding bikes in the car park at my local Halfords, so you may be able to try before you buy. This Motus has hub gears and a chain guard to keep the oily bits well away from your skirt.
  3. How about a Raleigh Motus either direct from Raleigh or from one of its dealers. You choose either a derailleur or hub gear depending upon your preference and there are plenty of colour options as well. It isn’t cheap, but it has high quality components.
  4. I looked at the price in NZD and it certainly correlates to “Super high end”.
  5. There are a couple of Rayvolts as well, but neither are UK legal despite one of them saying so, and they are also expensive. If you ride one of those on the road the Police will have it off you in no time.
  6. The only thing I could find was a Micargi e-bike that Cooler King used to sell. They imported them from the US and sold them for around £2k. This one is up for sale but it doesn’t appeal to me at all. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167672957375?_skw=cooler+king+bike&itmmeta=01K2ATMSVF8598T5WCPYVS0H09&hash=item270a1649bf:g:9ZwAAeSwl8loTvX4&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1eUFgmE4o%2FnfYD%2FUHVTiMaz9jrDXV1hFlkee75IZNaC5KH34Y5QetTx5RIaPul5eIsxSrzs60RlXiqP6br%2Fu8JzY0i1jVw66Fd4pM%2BHRbTejrjKrpBekyKJDY3%2FR7EjoBJAf2OWArySyMa6QfAwTWxg22X4GyxbUpId7ACgF5jPlOgJUVARr6CAPwDv9TPOUO4g%2BfN6Vfzq33rVmjWRZS%2F9QAWJleJxi9mPpmkPQ9%2F1jaCUM1hJ5l3%2Fv4plR4pFp83U7wGH73Vv8tATYo%2Fbjciwam5cyVMhqpEfhQSGxpKqMg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4Ce09qSZg
  7. I kept my eyes peeled on eBay. They were like buses a few years ago, nothing for ages then a load came along at once. There’s nothing on there at the moment, probably because the weather is so good. But a few may pop up during the winter when they are taking up space in a garage not being used.
  8. I would go for the Cooler Kub if I didn’t have my Greaser.. Here’s a photo of my modified Greaser. A Cooler Kub can be easily modified to accommodate a substantial battery in the frame for extended range. And also offers the ability to be upgraded for exceptional off road performance, without changing the motor. The Cooler Kub is more comfortable than the Cooler King because it has full suspension. My Greaser Classic doesn’t have any suspension at all, but the Greaser Springer as its name suggests has a Springer front end although I have no idea if it works effectively. Rear Suspension on the Greaser is achieved using a sprung saddle and that’s not effective. I don’t have any experience of the Rayvolt range. Oh and my Greaser mudguards are absolutely useless in the rain, particularly the front guard. I think upgraded mudguards are now available to alleviate that problem. These bikes come up for sale on eBay very occasionally because they are quite rare. So if you see one at a reasonable price, grab it quickly because you may not see another for sale for a long time.
  9. Superb piece of reporting on this e-bike seizure: ”The team posted a picture of a bike they seized on the streets of Stafford. The team added: "Stafford area , this delivery moped was in shockingly bad condition, the exhaust was holding on by a few threads and had snapped from its mountings’.
  10. The thick red and black cables are the power input to the controller from the battery.
  11. Scrap that, the belt drive Radkick has a maximum rider weight of 125KG.
  12. You could try contacting Radbikes to see if they can get hold of a Radkick in Europe. That’s the closest bike I can think of that meets your requirements. They have several bikes in their range that almost suit, but only the Radkick has a belt drive and it may still only be available in the US. https://radpowerbikes.eu/
  13. It’s not a Stealth Bomber. It’s a bike put together using bits and pieces from eBay. And the 30H error is probably a motor hall sensor problem. If you take the motor apart to replace the hall sensors be careful when you put it back together. The magnets are very powerful and you will lose the tips of your fingers if they get trapped when it snaps back together.
  14. Error 24 on a KD58C display is hall sensor abnormality. So either the hall sensor connector isn’t making proper contact or there is an actual problem with the motor hall sensors. Here is a link of the procedure to test the hall sensors: https://ebikes.ca/documents/HallSensorTestingFinal.pdf
  15. You have got your multimeter set to 20 volts full scale. If you set it to 200 volts full scale you will get a voltage reading.
