  6. I presume that mag wheels tie you to the specific brand of motor used by the bike manufacturer. That Wouldn't be something that I would want.
  7. I bought a Trekology fold up chair when it was on special offer last year. It is surprisingly strong, easy to use, and doesn't take up a great deal of room, but if I were to be in the market again for one, I would look at the OEX version, as it better at spreading the load to the ground. I generally have to use the lids of jars, to stop the feet from sinking.
  8. I must admit that fat tyred bikes aren't my thing either. There is a lad who has a YouTube channel, that uses one for wild camping exploits, and it was the study rear rack, and front headstock bolt on rack mounting points that caught my attention. I also wanted a bike that I could work on in the event of motor/electrical failure. The price was okay as well. I don't actually like the fat tyres, and the bike about 10kg heavier than I would have liked. I have never understood the one size frame fits all idea either. At 5'10" tall I still manage to find the crossbar too high. On the plus side with the bike, it is pretty utilitarian and functional, although the front forks are pretty twitchy when the bike is loaded. The brakes also aren't the best either, but somehow it all works.
  9. The main compartments on the panniers don't seal overly well, but this hasn't proved to be a problem to me, and could be sorted with some additional velcro. I'm still very pleased with them though, but don't take that as a recommendation, as I hate recommending things to people. Perhaps I should write a review about them, showing them in detail. The only photo that I can currently find showing the laden bike is the following one. I shall have to take some the next time that I am out.
  10. I'm not sure that lonely is quite the right word, but I do enjoy peace and quiet, away from people. Sadly living in Sussex, getting away from aircraft noise is all but impossible though, which does spoil things for me. Ref the bike, I generally cover it up, and lock it, but I keep meaning to buy one of those disc locks, that an alarm built into it. Luggage carrying wise, I am very pleased with these panniers that I paid about £45.00 for. https://www.amazon.co.uk/OYHN-Adjustable-Waterproof-Polyester-Reflective/dp/B088WHMQM3/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=2YOK4YA5Q35O1&keywords=green+cycle+panniers&qid=1690140228&sprefix=%2Caps%2C81&sr=8-2 The bolted down flat rack over them is also proving very useful. All ugly, but functional.
  11. I think that I will just stick with my current set ups. Nightcat lay flat hammock OEX Phoxx II V2 OEX Jackal II
  12. Following on from the thread mentioning that Rad Power Products are pulling out of EU sales, I spotted the following article, but couldn't discover who the 9 fined manufacturers were? https://www.ilent.nl/actueel/nieuws/2023/06/21/inspectie-legt-dwangsom-op-aan-aanbieders-fatbikes
  13. Go for it SW.
  14. The Mucky Nutz short front fender is actually very good for it's intended use on a mountain bike used for off road use. That use being to keep mud and crud from hitting you in the face. Beyond this, and for my main use, I am not really that fussed about Mudguards. They snag up, become clogged with mud, and just become an annoyance. For road use and simple bridleway use though, I am very happy to use full Mudguards, and have frequently extended them further by splaying out the front added extension. The rear rack and panniers also add to a splash free ride.
  15. From my understanding of the Shengmilo MX05, there has been issues relating to the motor wire. Apparently it is very thin, and has been known to melt and fuse at the connector.
  16. Sadly, I am still struggling for time ⏲️ so have only completed one more ride, but I am pretty sure that the bike climbs better now. My favourite time of the year.
  17. Finally found the time to look at the settings, and the CUR value had been set to 15A, which I have now changed to 20A. It will certainly be interesting to see what difference that it makes.
  18. Funny that you should mention that. After having to take a much longer way to get home yesterday, so avoiding the 14% gradient that the lower end of my road has, it did occur to me that I should really look at the settings. I should of checked that when I had the voltage issue. I shall let you know how it goes.
  19. Not a bad way to spend a Bank Holiday weekend, although when I got home. I did discover that I had returned with two unwanted extra passengers. I hate ticks, and like them even less when they are on me! As for the bike, it is going well, but it's hill climbing isn't really that great, and the range isn't either, given the battery size, manufacturers claims, and YouTube claims by people who have been given bikes to review. From my own use using the lower assist levels, I am getting about 25-30 miles with roughly 2,400ft of elevation gain.
