what tool removes those then.

Bore cap tool HTTC-TC covers E4 and V4

If you are going to be swopping over a bore cap it is a really good idea to give the O ring on it a bit of a smear with *Hunters silicone lube.

Just a smidgen.

*Hunters is the preferred and Hope recommended lube for O rings and sides of pistons after cleaning. One bottle of it will last you decades

Beginning to look a bit dated these days SW, maybe time for something new. And you can always sell off the bits that come with it to install your own bits.

wtf

Wot mean ? is it too narrow a nose on it ?

Bloody good saddle al the same. nice and firm and supportive.

Still in 'build mode' but we'll get there.

bolt was loose holding top part on sorted now

Ahhhhhh righto.

are those the orange bore caps as look gold?

Orange yeah.

Frame is blue with orange decals, so a smattering of orange doesnt over saturate.- stem top cap, seatpost clamp. bore caps/master cylinder covers, headset spacers

Rotors are blue because you cant get that type of vented in orange*

*Well you can, but the newer vented are £115 quid a throw, whereas these from a few models back can be picked up new for about £50 each.

Brakes are the new Hope tech4 V4(and ive another set on my Scott ebike. By far they are considerably more powerful than anything Hope has released yet and probably in the top 5 most powerful bike brakes currently available.

i need the yellow ones but cant find them anywhere mine e4

If by yellow you mean gold, Im not sure there is.

Gold was part of the mini mono brake set

That said, there is a bore cap compatibility chart which might show if the earlier will fit the later.

One issue springs to mind, which is some of the bore caps, as on my V4's and possibly you're E4 is those thee caps screw on from the outside, where as some others, like the Tech X2's screw in from the inside.

Compatibility chart - And sorry, but i doesnt look like it :(

The only option you really have here is to take a small pile of components, and sent them to an anodizers who will strip the undesirable colour and re-anodize to however you fancy.

We'd a bloke over on RetroBike who did some work for me anodizing for early bike bits, but that was a hobby for him and he stopped doing it, and in fact im not sure he's on RB any more.

Of course, it will take a bit of figuring out, a few small bits to buy, and you could do them yourself. Which I'm more than sure you are capable of.

One thing to note there is the RB chap told me after he did mine that despite me stripping the old ano(you do it in a strong solution of caustic soda drain cleaner) was I hadnt fully rinsed off the caustic, despite me thinking i had because i really rinsed them i thought, and that if after stripping you polish any roughness that stripping has caused, there was still residue of the metal polish(autosol)

So if you do decide to give it a go, really scrub at the stripped part in cold water to make sure any polish or caustic is gone as that can effect the finished product.

I remember what the job was. The first set of Hope tech X2 you couldnt get the parts in purple, and i wanted purple, so had him do them instead.

I should have a pic of the bits he did ...

i was just about to try it so wont bother and send it back as can use the cash for a magura v3 dropper post.

think its time for a new bike if i was spending that sort of cash.

just cant find a frame i like that the batt will fit and be full sus 150mm rear sus

At 5000w, unless its offroad only and you get there with the bike in the back of a van it wont be going on the road.

Not unless you want to wave goodbye to it
