May 14, 201610 yr Soundwave I formally request that you no longer post within this thread. I don't know why you've picked on him. There's plenty of people now on this forum that derail threads just to get onto their own agenda. We shouldn't need any special threads where people can only post censored comment. All it is is selfish people wanting everybody else to conform to their way of doing things. This forum used to be people expressing their happiness in what they did with their bikes and others helping each other to get that happiness. Personally, I don't think you should have opened this thread the way you did. It made me feel sick. If we had more threads starting like that, I wouldn't be interested in participating anymore as well.
May 14, 201610 yr I can only assume d8veh has posted in wrong thread ??? It does not make sense otherwise..??? I don't think d8veh has posted in the wrong thread at all, I (think?) I can see where he is coming from. There are some posters on this forum that definitely have certain agendas & DO derail threads. Some of these same posters also are the ones who preach along the lines that they have the right to take a thread in any direction they wish. Whilst I completely understand why Eddie started his thread the way he did he has attempted to set his own rules that are inconsistent with all those other threads. Basically you can't have one member making up his / her own rules & effectively, as d8veh says, censor posters / only allow posters who agree with their views. .d8veh have I interpreted it (roughly) right?
May 14, 201610 yr I can see that. The Forum is rather a free for all everywhere. Eddie is trying, now with limited success, to create a part of forum following the law and some semblance of order.. Yep see & understand that but Eddie doesn't help himself. By posting this:- Debate this somewhere else if you wish, but not here. I'm fed up of it. I'm removing this post later, and would prefer that no one debate this subject within this thread, but continue to post relevant photos and ride details. he's effectively saying "I can post what I like here but I don't want you doing the same"................ Doesn't sit well with me I'm afraid. If Eddie doesn't want to read SW's posts the ignore facility in his settings will hide them from his view. It even hides them when other people quote them - now that's clever!

I couldn't do with his home made launguage and style of writing more than what he was saying, no offence. Not that I would know if made a comment.
May 14, 201610 yr Do we really want a forum catering to SW,s wishes and posts about illegal bikes, cannabis and cider ???Maybe, maybe not BUT some people no doubt enjoy his posts & we really musn't forget the words of Evelyn Beatrice Hall. If we don't respect that then it's a really slippery slope, going only one way.
May 14, 201610 yr so what the hell was the point of this forum if ppl still keep posting bikes with bafang kits ect that you can change the speed limit and fit throttles to them??
May 14, 201610 yr Do we really want a forum catering to SW,s wishes and posts about illegal bikes, cannabis and cider ??? I don't know about anyone else, but I quite enjoy all three. Not all at once though.
May 14, 201610 yr And that's cool, but there's no rule as far as I know to say that others can't or shouldn't.
May 14, 201610 yr Back on topic for emtb section of pedelec forum. Fantastic evening ride around Lady Bower. 26 miles , average speed 13.2 mph. Absolutely stunning..nearly had place to myself. Used highest setting had 18% left . Don't like the couple of miles on snake pass but worth it.. Edited May 14, 201610 yr by (NoLongerRegistered#15675)
May 14, 201610 yr I don't normally jump in with things like this and sorry for being off topic Eddie but people should try too stay on topic or what the point in having any sections in the forum at all Why don't you just have an open forum with anything and everything just being posts that have no meaning at all just a load of people posting stuff and ranting with no direction Surely when a thread starts with a title the title should be stuck too as close as you can I know we all have a wander off sometimes and things do go off topic a bit but in general how hard is it really too stay 99% on topic I also feel this forum is missing a bit of moderating. Eddie if you want this removing feel free to pm me and I will do so or maybe even a mod might clean up the thread and put it back on track
May 15, 201610 yr Author Back on topic for emtb section of pedelec forum. Fantastic evening ride around Lady Bower. Certainly looked another lovely evening for it. Yesterday's weather also couldn't had been better here either. 60.8 miles 4,623 ft of elevation gain Av speed 10.8mph max speed 36.5 mph http://s32.postimg.org/t6fih5cs5/Hailsham_140516.jpg I actually ended up spending far too much time talking instead of riding, and purely by chance bumped into Darren from Brightonebikes. We both happened to stop at the same crossing point, and both unexpectedly came across this little event at Southease. I really don't like the shell suit colour scheme. http://s32.postimg.org/4bywtxn1x/zz8.jpg Other than the usual covering of sheep and cow poo, the bike remained almost clean. After suffering three more punctures today, I'm definitely going tubeless on this bike as well this week. http://s32.postimg.org/q2cahf3zp/zz9.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/wi7xlnpbp/zz10.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/sx7x82cc5/zz6.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/7fn0pupdh/zz14.jpg A few random shots. http://s32.postimg.org/5uhus9rsl/zz4.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/fkfcj212t/z13.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/lotjaj5yt/zz11.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/iy6vrhm2d/zz12.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/4qvhez6yd/zz5.jpg
May 15, 201610 yr Couple of shots from yesterdays ride along the fife coast methil to elie.. Had a burger and a beer and watched the locals playing cricket on the beach...Nice easy 26 mile round trip. further along the coast robinson crusoe hotel lower largo
May 15, 201610 yr Following my ride in #45 I put it away, had time today to check over it properly and found that I had hit one to many large flintstones.. Ralph has now been consigned to the rubbish bin.
May 15, 201610 yr Author Eddie,Great pics as usual also did did get a free test ride. Sadly I was quite pushed for time by that stage of the ride. The thought of having listen a sales guy waffling on about the bike, whilst pretending to be interested in the bike was also enough to put me off. Maybe next time. Following my ride in #45 I put it away, had time today to check over it properly and found that I had hit one to many large flintstones.. Ralph has now been consigned to the rubbish bin. I was dreading the same fate yesterday. After three punctures due to bramble thorns, I took it extra easy on any flint sections. The mountain Morph is a great pump, but by third time of inflating a tyre, the novelty of pumping up tyres had worn off, and pinch flats and sliced tyres would have finished the day. I did find a few new sections and areas yesterday that I'm going to explore at some stage. I had said that the link from Rodmell to Stamner wasn't that great, when in fact it actually has some stunning views, and places that look good to explore. The dull concrete track leading to or from Rodmell didn't seem so long, and I guess that my opinion of the area was based upon a couple of negative experiences. Food poisoning hit me big time the first time of riding, and bad weather had always blighted the other occasions of riding it. Amazing what a bit of sun can do. One of the next daytime rides, might be to head off to Lewes, have a decent ride around the town, then head up to the golf course above the cliff, explore that area, then drop back down and head towards Kingston, and hunt out the windmill and church. http://s32.postimg.org/5a7zfmu0l/zz23.jpg http://s32.postimg.org/plyzta5bp/zz22.jpg Edited May 15, 201610 yr by EddiePJ

May 15, 201610 yr so what the hell was the point of this forum if ppl still keep posting bikes with bafang kits ect that you can change the speed limit and fit throttles to them?? sw, the point of this thread is for people of like mind to share their experiences of their day out. Photography is a big part of it and maybe we can pick up tips of places to go.An occasional bafang motor used with consideration for others isn't a problem, till your nicked that is, It probably is boring to an adrenaline fuelled guy like yourself but equally most have us have been there and have moved on. I suspect a few years down the line you may understand where i'm coming from.. Live , let live and never stop learning . regards
May 15, 201610 yr this thread was supposed to be for uk road legal bikes. not sure what its for now lol:rolleyes:

May 15, 201610 yr As does self-righteousness and a sense of superiority. EDIT: Deleting or editing posts without marking as an edit makes a thread confusing to read and destroys the linearity and flow of a discussion. Another practice that really gets my goat is to edit an earlier post AFTER a response has been made, as an attempt to quash or negate the valid arguement raised, as if the point had been dealt with by the original post. Moving the goalposts after a response has been posted IMO is a weasel practice, but I'm sure any culprits know who they are. Edited May 16, 201610 yr by danielrlee
May 15, 201610 yr Please respect forum rules, and my own personal choice by ensuring that only UK legal emtb's are posted within this thread. (S-Pedelecs), Non-EAPCs section for all other bikes, including those fitted withdongles. If you do not happen to agree with the above, please feel free to start your own photo related thread in the above mentioned section, or continue to use the already existing topic starter detailed in the following link.http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/how-many-people-are-using-there-e-bike-off-road.15780/ The Department of Transport say that electric bikes fitted with off-road switches or modes, that enable a bike’s motor to continue assisting to speeds beyond 15.5mph, do not comply with UK EAPC law. so like i said no bafang mid drive or hub motor diy kits can be posted in this thread per edds request. as you can remove the speed limit from near all of them like a dongle and not have to pay for 1 and not only that can change the power settings as well and dump 40a from a 3000w batt in to it and send you down the road at 50mph they do not comply with UK EAPC law because you can change the settings 250w or 5000w motor it does not matter its the same as a dongle.
