June 22, 20205 yr What's the lightest bike available I really want one with a throttle if possible. I tried the Fiido D1 but I'm not well and it would be too heavy for me to take on the train. IS this the lightest conversion kit available it looks like it https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-unlimited-ebike-conversion-kit/x/23882377#/ and the motor is up to 85% effecient apparently.
June 22, 20205 yr 9kg - compared to Fiido D1's 17.5kg Furtivoo = 13.5kg https://www.juicybike.co.uk/electric-bikes/furtivoo Hummingbird = 6.9kg – 10.3kg https://www.hummingbirdbike.com/shop-1/electric-bike Edited June 22, 20205 yr by Wicky
June 22, 20205 yr The AMX mini seems to be What I'm after but they've sold out. Don't bikes have to be folding bikes to take them on the train?
June 22, 20205 yr Author Don't bikes have to be folding bikes to take them on the train? Well not on the train where I go from, they have a carriage with space for 3 bikes.
June 22, 20205 yr What's funny Mr Woosh ? the ad says wireless kit and didn't mention the motor cable.
June 22, 20205 yr getting back to your original question, I suppose the lightest bike would be to fit a kit to a Hummingbird.
June 22, 20205 yr Well not on the train where I go from, they have a carriage with space for 3 bikes. What about coming back?
June 22, 20205 yr Author What about coming back? The same as going there the train could be the same train.

June 22, 20205 yr Author https://www.thetrainline.com/trains/great-britain/bikes-on-trains#:~:text=Yes%2C%20you%20can.,restrictions%20on%20Peak%2Dtime%20travel. I live in rural Dorset and go off peak so it's all good, anyway I can wait for the next train if necessary I'm quite relaxed.
June 22, 20205 yr I use my 21kg+ KTM eRace on local off peak trains - weight isn't a problem as train doors are only a few inches higher than the platform. Just need to lift front wheel up first followed by rear and push it on. Only time the bike's weight becomes a problem was returning via certain stations i.e Weeley where the bike needs to carried up & across a footbridge to get to the right platform. Goodness know how disabled folk are able to use unmanned Weeley Station for Colchester / London bound journeys as they blocked of easy ready access to that side's platform
June 22, 20205 yr the ad says wireless kit and didn't mention the motor cable. It's probably the indiego link I posted earlier this morning, the motor is wired but the other components are BT.
June 22, 20205 yr the OP would like a throttle which is not impossible but very difficult to do wirelessly.
