October 21, 20241 yr No sorry not PSW, I regret leaving the comment as it was off topic. Just Ignore me….. Don't worry. You can edit your first post and add "I didn't buy battery from PSW" or something like that for clarity. Why would you need 30Ah battery if you don't mind me asking? It must be massive. BTW full refund after two weeks is something you should be happy about. Try to get money back from Sports Direct or Evans Cycles and you will see Edited October 21, 20241 yr by Az.
October 21, 20241 yr No problem I have changed as suggested. I actually bought two of these, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007221470572.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.28.a1771802RQBepe We live in north wales in Snowdonia very hilly and mountainous. So to go out for the day with a 10-15ah doesn‘t last. We didn’t go with the cheapest or the most expensive, but as they were offering Samsung cells we thought for the price it would be ok. We even messaged them first and they reassured us. Also we thought with the way li-ons deteriorate over a few years we will still be ok in 4 or 5 years. Plus there wasn’t much difference in price, which in hindsight should have been a warning. Now we don’t know where to source from as we are worried it could happen again.
October 21, 20241 yr there wasn’t much difference in price, which in hindsight should have been a warning. Yes... 60Ah only £300 and same size as 20Ah? I wish it was possible. Now we don’t know where to source from as we are worried it could happen again. Unfortunately it is not easy to buy a battery and it will only get worse. I am very pleased with mine. I hope it will last a while.
October 21, 20241 yr I have noticed that the price do change a lot as well. I thought we would give it a try as I can’t seem to get any locally. Do you mind saying where you managed to find a good one? We use them so much around here I don’t mind paying a bit more. Maybe even replacing the pack inside? Building your own seems dangerous unless you know how to do it properly. YouTube makes it look so easy, but it’s not something I would feel safe enough by myself. Thanks for any help you can give.

I bought 48V 17.5Ah Samsung battery from PSW (shipped from Germany). Paid around £240 if I remember well. There were some problems - they sent me wrong battery and I had to wait a month for right one, but it was worth to wait. It can keep my bike going for entire day.
October 21, 20241 yr Thanks, that sounds like what I am looking for, maybe at least 20ah. Just had a Quick Look, do you think the packs inside would be interchangeable with my silverfish style so I could swap them over? As long as they send me the right one that is…….

If I were you I wouldn't consider opening batteries. I would rather check if there is space to mount hailong battery instead.

Get your batteries from Greenlance. They're an excellent UK supplier. The price is good and so are the batteries. I have two from them. They're service is really good too. Make sure that you use whatever code they offer to get an additional 10% off. That Aliexpress listing is totally wrong. They show one size case and mention 13S5P, but there's no way all the configurations will fit in that case. The most you can get fro 13S5P is about 16Ah.

Thanks, just tried and at the moment the silverfish style 48v 20ah is out of stock but looks promising. I’ve signed up and will keep trying, Thanks again.

As regards the Ali listing, we searched for a long time trying to sort what did not sound right, and only chose this one because of the communications that we had. There are many multiple listings on Ali that look similar, and if there are any genuine e-bike batteries on there they are buried in fakes. To make matters worse, Ali refused to help. Once you got through the chatbot I was told that ‘they do not do monetary refunds if the battery is confirmed to be ‘not as described’. The seller only offered partial refunds, and blamed his supplier. We think, but can’t prove that PayPal only changed their tune because we informed them that we had started a case with Action Fraud and the UKICC, we can’t say for definite, but it all happened at the same time. Anyway I promised myself I would not rant, just put it down to experience, it was just an anxious couple of months all in all. After all ‘it’s only money!!!’
October 22, 20241 yr Shame you didn't ask before buying, but I like your attitude. I hope soon you will get your batteries with enough juice to enjoy scenic rides. ...and please post some pictures so we could enjoy them too.

PSW are doing a 48V 14.5Ah silverfish type battery plus charger (china cells) at the moment for £63 plus £7 delivery. It dont see any frame fittings but I have one ordered as I think its good value. https://www.pswpower.com/products/electric-bicycle-ebike-battery-hailong-g70-g56-21700-18650-cells-pack-48v-36v-175ah-15ah-20ah-125ah%C2%A0bicycle-lithium-ebike%C2%A0battery%C2%A0lithium-fits1000w-300

It only shows shipping from germany, and when I select UK as my country, it says "no option". Even if I select Germany as my country, it still says no option. Will it except orders from you?
October 29, 20241 yr It's a weird website - you have to unclick everything first (Germany is preselected, unclick), then select country at the bottom (default is USA), then select "Ships from", then "Voltage+Capacity". Edited October 29, 20241 yr by guerney
October 29, 20241 yr OK, I sorted it, but when it's all said and done, it comes to £214 for two. BTW, they're not silver fish batteries. They're for one type of folding bike with in-frame batteries. You need the connecting plate to be any use, otherwise, you have to take off the end and make your own connection system.
October 29, 20241 yr Have you got three in the shopping cart? Price with delivery to London: If they offered 36V at that price and capacity, I'd consider buying one to fettle onto my bike somehow, but not to run in parallel with the other battery. Edited October 29, 20241 yr by guerney

Thanks, I did again and got the same as I did before, which was for two. Ithen did it a third time and I got the two for £156.93. They're perfect for the project I have running. Thanks everyone for your help.
October 29, 20241 yr Probably an issue caused by shopping cart cookie processing. You've almost bought them out! There's only one left! Edited October 29, 20241 yr by guerney

They are about 700 watt hours each so thats 1400 wh for £156. Not bad... I will probably open the battery and connect in but I will test the battery first before breaking the seals in case there is a problem (I have a homemade set of leads with ends that I made up by cutting and filing two brass neutral pins from 13A plugtops so I can test the battery with a load). November 7, 20241 yr All I need is the cell-packs, so I'm happy. My battery arrived today (to Ireland) well boxed and sealed along with its charger, connector and plate, a spare fuse and a set of keys that turn on the battery. Its storage voltage read at 49.5v. I done a full charge and discharge into a load and all looks very well.

I was very happy to see that they provided the matching battery connector plate, which will be very useful for my application. I haven't done anything with them yet. Definitely a bargain at £150 for the pair. £150 would be cheap for one of them.
