May 6, 2025May 6 Anyone out there have an ARCC conversion, mine is on an Airnimal Joey - great bike but the conversion is let down by the repeated difficulty of the bluetooth connection - handlebar to Pod. I assume bluetooth is used because of the number of connections to the Pod eg brake switches for example. Do all power assisted bikes have brake switching? If the pedalec is not working the rider will be aware of it before any serious braking is applied surely? Do all pedallec bikes have brake switching? Thanks anyone who can advise. John B
May 6, 2025May 6 There's an ARCC app for iOS, does that provide enough functionality? To save power and win the neverending fondleslab thinness wars, the newest OSs can cut wireless connections of apps which aren't on top, including bluetooth. If your iDevice loses bluetooth connection to the pod, perhaps try an auto reconnect bluetooth app? Available at all good app stores near you. Often, if you keep external power plugged in and the app on top with the screen on continuously, wireless connections aren't killed off. Edited May 6, 2025May 6 by guerney
May 6, 2025May 6 hack on new antenna, both modules are probably employing pcb antenna, and if using off the shelf coms modules ( probability high?) at least one end may have an optional sma connector installed. If not the procedure for adding a similar connector to a raspberry pi 3 or 0?? (been a while) may apply? whoops sma are the screw in type connectors its ipex-4? for the internal type antenna as found attached to pc modules etc.. Edited May 6, 2025May 6 by thelarkbox
