green lance says there battery can be charged 1500 times that’s make me suspicious max is 500/ to 1000 max

I'd get the 20ah one. Not only is it guaranteed to do your journey, but it'll get an easier time doing it, so it'll last longer. Plus, you might want to use your bike to go a lot further.

A think a could have problems with there battery as the battery plate only has to holes not 4 and me bottle holes on the frame quite low down ??

Nothing that can't be solved with a drill or if not brave enough an adaptor plate.

A can’t seem to work if it would just screw the new bracket from Greenlance , why have there change them to 2 slots instead 3or 4 ??

The 2 slots on the greenlance holder can fit mounts between 5 and 8 cm apart.

 

The holder has an enclosure for a controller at the bottom and the underneath is metal. You can drill through that to get a lower mount if you are not having an integrated controller. I might be able to take a photograph later if no one else can point to one.

Heavy batteries need at least three fixings, and you might as well do 4 while you have your tools out. It's not difficult to add a couple more rivnuts. All you do is:

• Mark the centre of the two empty slots
  
• Remove the mounting plate
  
• Centre punch the two marks
  
• Drill the holes to suit the rivnuts in several stages going up in drill size
  
• Insert the rivnut and crimp it
  
• Check that the screw goes in easy. If not clean the thread very carefully with a tap. The worst thing is if the rivnut starts to spin before fully tightened, as you cannot remove anything stuck in it.
  
• Screw down the mounting plate very tight to fully form the crimp.
  

You can get a rivnut kit on Ebay for not much. The biggest problem is getting your drill at the rightangle to drill the hole. It doesn't matter if you're not quite straight. You might want to think about using one of those angled drill adapters.

Maybe the 6kg is gross weight of the box, including charger, mount and the box itself. Ask the company, they must know. If they don't answer, or if they don't know, don't use them.

Those two are both 20Ah. One has 18650s and the other 21700s. I can't see much difference in performance, but I only ride with lowish power. I've no idea how many charges because I have 4 batteries on three bikes and I keep swapping them around. The first one I got from Greenlance was used the most on my main bike. I don't even know which one of the 4 it is now. I never measure range because I don't empty them on a ride.

I'll check later, but you know you need extra clearance to fit the battery to the holder? You need about 20mm above and at the front, plus the height of the battery at the bottom end interferes with the seat tube, so the whole battery is prevented from going too low on the downtube.. it's best to make a cardboard model to check fitting if it's tight.

Those dimensions look right as far as I can measure with a 12" ruler.

48V 1500W motor with 48V 25AH battery. It was quite expensive but the Samsung cells and 2 year warranty pushed me into buying, lol.

1500W is illegal in a public place and nothing says 'stop me and buy one' more than bolting a dinner plate to your back wheel.

Yep - the legislation refers to the rated power of the motor not the actual power. If you restrict it to 15.5 mph you may get away with a police check, but they would legally have the right to seize it

Agreed, 1500w motor is illegal. No if's, buts or maybe's. Paired with a 45A controller you are building a motor bike which, unless you register it, fit a number plate, insure it, have the relavant licence and wear a motorcycle helmet, will be illegal no matter what you do to it.

I would be very wary now of buying any e-bike or conversion kit without the appropriate labels/stickers.

 

In this (15 second) clip, the police sergeant inspects what looks like a legal Hitway BK15 (36v 250w) with no dinner plate plate motor, gaffa taped batteries etc.

 

Reading from his crib sheet, the sergeant says there is no labelling to indicate the maximum assist speed or the power of the motor, therefore it's getting seized.

 

So, get labelled up folks.

 

If you get stopped you will loose the bike and BATTERY!

 

Imho Your best bet is to pull the motor check the dates and pray your within the return window.

 

While up until recently police stop/checks have been rare, but it appears there is a growing trend for demonstration of police doing something these days - see the seizures thread in here and the increase in posts recently.. -One copper in a utube interview suggested the 'lack of police interest' so far has been during an 'Educational phase' where the public should become aware of whats a go and whats a no go.. And Now they are entering the policing phase...

 

The Direct Drive 'dinner plate' motors can be spotted a mile off and could be a copper magnet.

 

 

What need/requirement led you to opt for a 1000w motor? chances are with a little forethought a completely legal and within the regs system could be put together that can satisfy whatever requirements you have.. after all no restrictions on amps

That was a complete waste of money. Your motor makes the bike illegal. Restricting it to 15mph makes no difference. It will still be seized by the police if they see it.
