any help would be greatful

this is a Fido M1 Pro 2004

Your 25.8kg bike folds - was it a large shop? I fold my bike into a shoppiing trolley for Tescos, Asda etc. It's 22.41kg with battery, a little lighter. I don't bother removing the battery before lifting it into the trolley.

Ok now wired back up everything works except the light.

Even the horn works. So ordering one today. Shame as you can't just get the bulb on the board

you have to get the full light

It’s a large bike and has a cage on the back as well ..

it was a small shop ..

I should have looked up it's folded size: 96cm * 45cm * 79cm. Personally, I'd still attempt to get it into a shopping trolley.

For small shop shopping, I leave my bike at home. If I had to use my bike for shopping in shops of all sizes, I'd make my conversion displayless, but it'd still probably be vandalised and have parts or the whole thing nicked. The sheer number of bike frames I've seen left D-locked to bike stands with everything else stolen (mostly outside train stations), is astounding.

It fustrates me there is no secure provision for bikes in shopping areas, would make life so much easier and im sure would get a lot more people out on a bike.

Seems really backwards when all these people do is claim to care for the enviroment.

Sounds like someone in your area has either a chip on their shoulder, a grudge against you or just an infantile sense of valdalistic humour?? None of which are particularly enviable..

Only options are leave the bike at home when going to that area, Or finding out if any cctv cameras cover the area and park your bike in a good viewed/recorded spots. Adding protection to exposed wires may also ward off future attempts ebay a few diameters of Stainless steel cable shield/cover from automotive suppliers for protecting vulnerable exposed cable lengths??

Lots of bare bones led pcbs on ebay etc but be careful not to buy a replacement with a larger draw (ma or A) than your current lamp (and match operating voltage ;) - The risk of attempting to draw more amps than the controller switching circuit can handle can have unexpected consiquences like bricking the controller.

I am not well known in the area and very very seldom go to town usually in the car .

but for a change a ride about. Decided just to pop in for a tin of fizzy drink came out it it was damaged .

just ordered a new lamp from Fido.

they tell me its 7 to 8 days after receiving the order before they dispatch Then up to 21 days to get here .

then saw this on

EBay. the very same light same spec same make cheaper and 2 to 3 days delivery .

hows that work .

An up date ordered a new light from the Fido website.

No mention about no stock but now it seems no stock there awaiting a delivery.

begs the question now how on earth do they sell any M1 Pro bikes if they are awaiting a light ..

thinking maybe a battery light will be better. As they cant even say when there going to be in stock

...begs the question now how on earth do they sell any M1 Pro bikes if they are awaiting a light ..

Probably because the current M1 Pro is a totally different bike... 48v electronics rather than 36v with new controller and display, torque sensor rather than cadence, newer 80mm suspension... if you look at it there's little on the current M1 Pro model that's the same as your old, early model... only the frame bears some similarity. It surprises me they're even prepared to stock/get parts for a model so old...

It's the same with my Fiido D11 folder... everything has since been updated, upgraded, and improved, although the price remains broadly the same. Some spare parts for my older version have now started disappearing.

Since Brexit, Fiido have a UK warehouse/distribution center for whole new bikes so they get delivered in a couple of days (as mine did), but as it says on their website all spare parts are sent from the factory in China (as again mine did).

Why don't you just order the cheaper light you saw on ebay if it's the same?
