September 7, 2025Sep 7 Hi. Can anyone tell me if I can get a clutch for this motor please. Its off a Carrera Crosscity, Bafang 250w rear wheel. Ive looked everywhere (I think) Please help if you can. Thanks.
September 7, 2025Sep 7 What is the teeth count of the two stages . One needs to define the actual hub model number. Though the clutch say's G110 250D , there is no such hub model number. One could send a pic of it to Topbikekit to see if they can supply a clutch.
September 7, 2025Sep 7 Author Thanks for the info, I need to remove the clutch part to count the splines. I will try and borrow a 3 jaw puller this week and count them and get back to you. Thanks.
September 7, 2025Sep 7 Author If I cant get one is there anyway I can fix it, maybe soak it in degreaser that's if it is not mechanically destroyed inside.
September 7, 2025Sep 7 If you can build a wheel, you can get either a MXUS XF08C or AKM100SX motor complete from PSWPower for not much more than what you're going to pay for just a clutch. The XF08C id 280rpm at 36v and the AKM 100SX is 201 rpm at 36v. They list it with an easy-peal label as 350w, though nobody would believe that it is 350w because of its small size.
September 7, 2025Sep 7 Author The clutch turns both ways. I thought they would only turn the way the arrow points. I bought it 2nd hand and when I tried it out there was just an awful noise from the motor. I thought the nylon teeth had stripped but they are ok. I have watched a youtube video of a guy (Grin technologies) who welded the clutch so it did regen braking.

I don't think I could build a wheel, never done one before. Cheers
September 7, 2025Sep 7 I don't think I could build a wheel, never done one before. Cheers That's the same as many other guys on this forum, but we all had a go and got success - very satisfying! I've built about 20 wheels now. I do it on my lap while watching a film.

September 9, 2025Sep 9 I doubt that one will be able to find them tbh, better off buying an AKM hub for which we know the gear sets are available.

September 9, 2025Sep 9 If the connector is a std nine pin Julet then yes. All of the AKM's use a two stage gear set so internal hub gearing won't be too dissimilar.

What would happen if I welded the clutch so it was always in drive? I suppose when I stopped pedalling the motor would act like a generator and slow the bike down. but would it also give it regen?

September 9, 2025Sep 9 As above a member on here did exactly that soaked his clutch in some degreaser or some such liquid to get his working worth a try.....

Topbikekit do their own make as there is not an AKM 250w cassette model that I can see. 2.1KG TBK-100AD CST Cassette 36V250W EBike Rear Driving Hub Motor 32/36 holes
